Tomorrow I'm about to buy a new game for my new PC.

Thing is, I'm stuck in the gameocean. I don't know which one to buy!

I've thought about the following 2:

WiC
COH

Though I don't know for certain which one I should buy.

Any tip, comments?

I've got a powerful new generation pc with DX10 support (GTX) so it's actually not a problem with hardware and specs.

Please guys, show me to the light. Choose 1 of these games and tell me why you did it.

Or why not name another?

THX in advance...

World in conflict is awesome. Full Stop. I havent had a lot of experience with CoH myself though, so I cant say much about it.

I also reccoment waiting till next friday and getting Forged Alliance + Supreme Commander (if you havent already got SC).

To be honest, SC is the only strategygame that I dislike. Why? Don't ask me, think I dislikes the huge maps.

But you say WiC is a great game. Well, I have indeed heard that and the trailers/movies are amazing.

But, I've played base-building strategygames for too long.

Is it easy to get into a game like WiC then?

I don't know. Problem is, I must know tomorrow.

Well if your PC is pretty beastly, Forged Alliance is fun. Huge maps, huge battles. If Supreme Commander isn't your thing, COH or WIC would do nicely. Get WIC if you don't want to worry about managing resources and like more modern warfare. Get COH if your ok with base building and some economy management and like the WW2 era. Forged Alliance is good if you like very DEEP economy managing as well as very DEEP unit micromanagement and large scale tactics management, as well as Sci-Fi theme.

I have only played the demo for WIC, but I have to say I really didnt care for the gameplay. As for CoH, I didnt really have high expectations. I only bought the game cause so many people said it was great. I was completely blown away by the gameplay, it really makes you feel like you are in the action. SC is also good, so is the DoW series. Don't know if you already own/played them since you didnt specify. You did say you are tired of base building games so they are probably excluded. CoH doesnt really focus on base building, but if you really want to get away from base building maybe WIC is the best choice for you. It is definitely different from most of the other strategy games I have played.

my EXACT thoughts. I was also gonna recommend SC but you said it wasn't your thing and I understand why. OH make sure you get Opposing fronts if you already have CoH, that is one hell of an expansion pack.

I recommend COH. I play against a mate who has beaten me 110+ times (I am yet to win) but I still love the game (oh but I can beat the CPU on expert at least :P). I tried WiC and really disliked it, there was too much going on to really get to grips with your units and by the time something happened it was too late to do anything about it. Seemed like a rock paper scissors type game.

I noticed that the "easy" enemies are better than the expert..... not kidding, I gave myself an "expert" allie, and the moron was sitting there with 2 engineers, not doing anything, while the enemy was just grabbing territory with no problem.

I think they fixed it with some patch though, can't remember.

haha yeah, I played the D-Day mod with the same mate, and an expert CPU, and a few times the CPU did nothing. Even in opposing fronts I notice that they somtimes just cluster up heaps of troops at some point in the map. Generally one on one I have not had any problems though.

Im addicted to COH and have been since it was released. I highly recommend it. The single player campaign is awesome, skirmish is a lot of fun and multiplayer is fantastic! The (stand alone) expansion is also great, adds two new sides which play completly different to the original ones.

COH is currently my favourite game, its fun and addictive. Everything from the gameplay, visuals and sounds are top notch.

That happens when you play a custom map and the map maker hasn't set it up for AI players. In all offical maps that will never happen and in most custom maps you wont have any problem.. just when new map makers forget or are unaware they have to do something to get the AI working.
