I have been beyond bored lately. I recently finished Far Cry, and I am coming to an end of Medieval 2: Total War. Oh and sometimes play wow when my friends are playing. With these games at my disposal I still feel bored. I am in need of an RPG, a good RPG. I gave Oblivion a shot and it just didn't cut it for me. What do you guys / gals recommend. I am not to well versed in D&D however I don't mind learning. I know a thing or 2 about Greek/Roman mythology, so TQ seems to be interesting. Lastly Silverfall seems like it might be cool and it's the newest game of the bunch. Here is what I have heard: 1- NWN2 isn't as good as it "could" have been, and the A.I. is crap 2- TQ gets more boring as you go on, and the camera is angle is retarded 3- Silverfall is just not a good game due to bugs and the feeling of it being unfinished. However the game isn't even out but people say have the full version. Could those who have played any, or all of these games please give me a simple list of pros and cons. I live in Japan so I am gonna end up spending close to 70 bucks American on one of these games. If I was in the states I'd just buy them all. Lastly if there is a good RPG that you recommend that it somewhat up to date that I have failed to mention. Please let me know. Here are some other games that I heard that might be good. However after reading reviews I have not thought about buying. Gothic III, Sacred, and Dugeon Siege

There is a deal going on this week at Circuit City where you can get Titan Quest for $5 if you buy the expansion (Expansion is $25). If you like hack and slash, TQ is good fun. I've only played the demo, but I do plan to buy the game at some point.

If you want, you might wanna check out the demos first. Everyone has different tastes so it's hard to say what you'll like. It all comes down to what you want from a game.

I have NWN2 and as of now, I really don't like it. I felt that the story was good but then pretty much was destroyed at the end. I just can't bring myself to play it again. The good news is that there are modules being made for it that will probably have a better storyline and make NWN2 more enjoyable to play. That's of course if you want to wait. It will probably be a good game in the future, but not now.

As for titan quest, it's similar to Diablo if you've played it. Basically pure hack and slash. It's rather repetitive with all of that clicking but when you think about it, all games involve clicking ;)
I guess the game is kinda boring (At least for me). I didn't like the quests in TQ. I'm more of a NWN1 player. I still have it and enjoy it.
However, now that an expansion for the game is out, it should be a better game so if you plan on getting TQ, get IT for it as well.

I don't have Silverfall yet, but I plan on getting it. It's already out in some other countries. Hopefully it'll be a fun game.

thanks for the insight. i wish i was still living in NY cause I would buy that TQ deal. That sounds sweet. The only way i can get the game is off of amazon japan. I saw that stalker has RPG elements. i was thinking of giving that a shot too.

In my VERY personal oppinion I think Silver Fall is stinks the concept might looks good to someone but it doesn't pragmaatically work.and the gameplay is just another clone-version of Diablo 2 except some pointless side quest.

For Titan quest some of u guys may like it but I think it's not worth though. Maybe I've already bored of pointless click and smash game now. For me the story is important as well as the gameplay system

NWN is a great immersive story game. Gameplay system is good and the story is outstanding. It comes with many bugs though, however u can find a lot of amusement from this game

But the game that I would rather recommend is Jade Empire. This game everything is fit. Story game system bug-free moreover it's got 9.9/10 from IGN on XBOX version

STALKER is potential though but I have my hand on it only 3 hours so I can't say much

Also, maybe Morrowind and it's expansions would be more to your liking? If you didn't like how Oblivion toned down a lot of RPG elements, you should try Morrowind. Personally, I think it is a lot better. I recommend Fallout 1 and 2. GoGamer.com has a sale on the collection (FO1, 2, and Tactics) for $15

yeah, fallout seems like something i should play. i just was hoping for something more up to date. however, from what i have read. this game is a classic, it's timeless.

Titan Quest & NVN2 are both great games. Silverfall suffers some annoying bugs (you cant finish quests, not even main story quests some times)... All 3 are great games however, but until they patch Silverfall I suggest the other 2.

It really depends on what you're looking for. If you want a dungeon crawl go for Titan Quest, or if you want a more traditional RPG go with NWN2. I haven't played TQ, but I can recommend NWN2. It's a pretty good game aside from a few negatives (some of these have already been mentioned). I can't recommend Silverfall as I haven't heard much about it, and what I have heard hasn't been too positive.

Well..

-Get Neverwinter Nights 2 if you love RPGs and your PC can handle it - it's easily among the best recent RPG games on any platform (within the last few years.)
-Get Titan Quest if you love a good Diablo clone and aren't much of a "role playing" fan.
-Get Silverfall if you're a masochist who loves sub-par games riddled with bugs.

hahaha, poor silverfall. that game is getting smashed by everyone. haha. i thik imma get NWN2, and STALKER. I was thinking about giving Jade Empire a go but I am not too fond on getting xbox ports. Thanks!

NWN2 is straight RPG.. the other two are hack n slash.. If you want a straight RPG there is no better than BGG w/ ToB .. NWN1 was best for multiplay.. Gothic 3 kicks butt as well.. but is very particular about what OS it runs on..
Morrowind would take you 3 months of constant play to beat fully... meaning explore everything using a guide. more if not. Icewind Dale also very good straight RPG.. Icewind Dale 2.. uses 3rd edition Ad&d rules so plays like NWN and more modern RPGs like KOTOR etc. Hack n slash.. Titan Quest is great... Sacred Gold .... of course Diablo 2.

Silverfall is awful. Titan Quest I haven't tried, it does look good though. NWN2 is good, just not as good as the first one. Gothic III is also good, but riddled with bugs (before you play it, get it patched up on the site definitely). Oblivion suffers from the same problems Morrowind suffers from... Basically, everything morrowind did good, oblivion did better, but everything morrowind was crappy at, Oblivion didn't improve on at all. Bad combat system, bad character advancement system, bad 3rd person view.

Myself, I've been playing Jade Empire Special Edition lately. It's lots of fun, good story, lots of dialogue, and has some replayability. Though it's not as long as Oblivion or Gothic III, around the length of NWN2... It's a great game.

I'm waiting for Two Worlds, to come out, mostly... Probably will get Savage 2 when it goes into beta as well, which should be soon.

By the way, if you don't mind a bit outdated graphics, I'd suggest getting Gothic II Gold. It's from 2003, but definitely in my all-time favorite RPG list.

Same boat as you. Play wow and have tq with expansion but I'm so freakin bored of all my games.

Titan quest is a fun game but played it to death for 3 months. nwn2 bored me right away. Never played Silverfall.

If this extreme boredom keeps up I might have to go get a life or something :shock:
