Hey, I have a silverstone 850W SLI enabled power supply, is that a good brand or is it a cheap brand and likely to crap out?
And will it run a a 4870x2?
thanks.

Yeah, Silverstone are very high quality PSUs, which is why they are very pricey. 850W will easily power dual 4870s

Some of the best, depending upon the line and OEM build, in the market. Which is why their prices on the top ends are around 400usd. Their efficiency isnt the top however but way above average, yet their ripple and voltage regulation are often top notch.

The Zeus 1200 Modular PSU by Silverstone has much better ripple on all of the lines than the hx-1000, but worse efficiency, and about the same voltage regulation.

Which 850w is it? There is like three or four lines. Olympia, Zeus, and decathlon. The DA850 would be the better deal at the 850w range because the Zeus at that wattage is a different OEM and not as good as the earlier ones.

When you hit the 1200w range the Zeus retakes the crown.

I have a 650W Silverstone that survived a lightning strike (that wiped out my speakers and STB) and is still working fine 6 months later so I would definitely recommend.
