Do you mean things like objects (chairs, plants and the like)? If so, you just enter buy/build mode, click on the object you want to get rid of and either hit DEL or drag the iten to the bottom of the screen and drop it there. When in buy mode, when you click on an object to pick it up, the instructions on how to delete/sell it should appear at the bottom of the screen, where you would see the various states and moods in play mode.
