Sims 3 good if I liked the 1st?

Played the first one all those years ago when it came out and loved it. Is the 3rd still at heart like the first? it looks a bit overwhealming with a whole neiborhood around you all the time.

Yeah, i played the first one quite a bit (and a ton of expansions added on eventually). I didn't like Sims 2 as much, but Sims 3 is pretty good. The whole neighborhood things isn't overwhelming at all. The main focus is still on your house and family. It's just nice not to be able to walk around town and see different sites when you want to. Really the neighborhood things is what the game was really missing and is a great addition. It's hard to go back to before. I'm just waiting on some more expansions to make it like the first game in terms of amazingly varied content.

Really if you liked the 1st you will like the 3rd.
