Funny how you character is Sam Fisher lol..Control Sensitivity is key in that game. Well if you want to be sneaky. Anyways, the keyboard works perfectly with Vegas, I haven't been in a part where I need to be slow with things. If you use a controller, the sensitivity is there however.

You hold "w" to walk. Works pretty well.

i know that, on almost all pc games, when you press w, your character runs, you have to usually hold down another button to make the person walk. because the keyboard has no sensitivity. sensitivity is important in fallout, thats why i was asking

No you cannont, the developers didnt have enough time nor money to enable a switch that allows one to walk. It was rumored that they where going to but in walk/run in a upcoming patch, but scraped it because they believed money wasted.

its not -_- ... sensitivity isn't really NEEDED in almost any game except sports and racing games. Even games like Thief and assassins creed aren't crippled in the slightest without an analog stick. I'll take the precision and speed of a mouse for an analog stick any day... oh look an enemy ... 10 seconds to turn around and then forever to get accurate.... or spin that crap fast with a mouse and pinpoint in milliseconds...

When you sneak you can either sneak-walk or sneak-run, and it affects stealth somewhat. :P

You can toggle walk/run using caps lock, I don't really find it all that necessary in this game though. If you plug in a 360 controller it will work just as it does on consoles with proper sensitivity, button prompts, etc.

I thought that too  i was like "did i type that?" Because i never say that ports lack controls because of money, i always say that they dont bother with em because they can get away without bothering much with the pc version.

Gotta change my avatar :P

Anyway, you really cant press shift to walk in new vegas?

You can hold down shift to walk too. The caps lock toggle is if you get tired of holding down the shift key.

You do not need sensitivity in New Vegas, at all.

Console players might be under the impression that they do.

Now I don't know why they should be under this impression, maybe its to make up for all the bad things, that comes with a console?

Well if sensitivity can make the console players happy, I say keep it in all thegames that dont really need it, I mean- we need happy console gamers:)

Maybe they should implement a small "Pirate Flag" popping out of the controller, when a console player dies, then they have another "special thing" that PC gamers don't have..

TC...let me tell you, a couple of years ago I thought exactly like you.

Somehow I couldn't accept a keyboard as a gaming device ("This is for typing .lol" I thought.)

I was also worried about the lack of sensitivity when using a keyboard. In my mind it was inferior.

It took me about 2 months to get completely comfortable with using a mouse and keyboard however.

Now, after nearly 3 years of PC gaming I am so glad that I stuck with it.

I can safely say without question that using the WSAD keys is vastly superior to a left stick.

Sure, the sensitivity is gone with that of a gamepad, but I've realised that it was never really needed in the first place. With a keyboard you can quickly tap tap on the keys to add precision however, and I much prefer this. Also, because each finger is on it's own individual key, it is actually faster to make a move rather than have to push a thumbstick in the direction you want. It's also more comfortable. Combined with a mouse it makes a game where quick reflexes and precision are vastly easier then the clumsy control of a gamepad.

In Fallout: New Vegas, control sensitivity isn't really necessary but if you find that it is then there is a toggle for just that. I don't know how it is in the console version but the character walks very slowly on the PC. Perhaps on the consoles, you can move with a speed halfway between walking and running. In some other PC games, however, it annoys me that there isn't a walk toggle whatsoever. The best would be to allow the players to control the speed at which the characters move with the scroll of the mouse. Splinter Cell's control scheme introduced this concept or at least, it's the one and only game I know of.

You wanna know why I became a PC gamer some 10-12 years ago? It didn't have anything (ANYTHING) to do with the games selection thats for sure... Ok, ok, Counter-Strike WAS rapidly becoming my #1 played game in spite of having NES, SNES, N64, and PS I & II consoles, HOWEVER...! XBox started taking over the console market. I got one to eventually (This was when PC gaming really WAS dieing. There was no steam, or other Digitial Distribution method, and retail stores practically ABANDONED PC Gaming evvveryyywhere in the US). Well, These new gen consoles abandoned my DPAD!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember Gran Turismo 3 for PS 2? You could use Analog or DPAD, I always loved DPAD over analog in every way. And the DPAD was PRESSURE SENSITIVE... Nowadays I don't think they even make pressure sensitive DPADs, let alone give you the choice to use them the way you want (to move around) in button maps. I think Gran Turismo 4 (Which was also on PS 2 just like Gran Turismo 3) forced you to use the analog... or they removed use of the pressure sensitive buttons for some obscure reason. That was the day not only my favorite racing brand died to me, but also the console. I began saving for my first gaming devoted rig then. :)

That's a completely negligible aspect of the game. You should get the PC version because it runs better, looks better, gets better support, and has mods.
