I am just so fed up with this game and all of its technical issues! I have a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ at 2.6 GHz 2.046 RAM and a 32-bit operating system. Ive installed the latest versions of directX and PhysX, and turned off my fire walls. And yet, the game STILL crashes every time i try to start it. I have a windows Vista ultimate, and I dont see a compatabillity tab when i right click it and go to properties. I can't even run as an administrator. I tried everything, re-booting, re-installing. Any help? Oh, and by the way, the game was purchased through steam and works fine on my other computer.

The power supply? And how much do you think a good video card would cost?

Funny how you blame the game for technical issues, yet your PC appears way outdated.

His PC is not outdated he just doesn't have a good video card.

I have close to his setup but with an AMD Athlon X2 5200+ that is 2.7ghz

And with an 8800gt OC

It can easily max that game out.

I played Metro 2033 on very high directx 10 settings just fine on this computer.

The point remains the same, though. It's not the game, it's his computer that's not up to par.

That's part (a large part) of your problem right there.

Alright thanks guys, but as for what parts to update, I've posted a new thread in the hardware section. And to me, it is the time. This isn't the first issue I've had when it comes to this game. Not on this computer either. It took me about 2 days to finally figure out how to stop it from crashing on my brothers updated computer (which cost about 2000 dollars and is only a few months old) THEN I had to figure out how to bring up the sound. Needless to say, there are alot of problems with this game, but its definetly worth it once its up and running.
