I'm wondering, how good is this game? I'm a big RTS fan and I got C&C3, BFME I and II(With RoTWK), Rome/Medieval 2/Empire/Napoleon Total War, Empire Earth 2, AoE 2 and 3, but never played something like SoaSE, so how good is it? I'll be getting it digitally and thinking of first getting the base game and if I like it then getting the expansions, would that be the correct thing to do? I did read a few reviews of it and they seemed quite promising. P.S. Its just 10$ on Impulse Driven. Getting the trinity would cost me 10$ more than getting them individually :P

I have it and like it quite a bit. It's not a straight up RTS, though. It's also has parts of 4X games. I'd recommend it, especially at $10.

From someone that doesnt really play that many rts's other than starcraft. i can say i loooovve Sins. i at first had to force myself to learn everything, but after i did i couldnt stop playing. you might want to know that matches can last up to 10 hours or even more depending on the size of the map.

It's a good game and worth the price. Probably biggest complaint about it would be that just one skirmish can take a long, long time. If you like strategyand sci-fi theme then you are pretty much bound to like it.

I still suggest getting the trinity pack with all the expansions though. It's not that much more expensive and the add-ons make the game a wholer lot better. For instance you can only get starbases with the entrenchment expansion. Starbases are awesome.

Also witch only the vanilla version you dont even get the graphical enhancments and improved ship explosions.

I bought it, didn't get the Trinity but got all 3 individually. Saved 10$ that way.

Given the games you listed (variety in the RTS genre!), I'm pretty sure you'll like it. It's slow-paced, but pretty epic and a ton of fun.

A great game that you will spend hours upon hours building your fleet and conquering the universe. Huge epic battles alot of micromanagement that once you get a hold off is great and addictive One recommendetion though . If you get it do get at least the entrenchment expansion with the game ( for diplomacy you can get it later ). One of the thinks the original game was missing alot was base defenses and entrenchment fixed that

Get it if you like strategy games. It's kinda hard though.

Another heads up, there's no micro involved, ships fight best when you don't touch them. I hated it cause it was pure macro, and thats basically just rushing yourself in order to win.
