I prefer turn based strategy games over real time strategy games.

I like Galactic Civ 2, even though I have not played it too much. I own Sins but have not played it too much. I want to reinstall one or the other.

Anyone have any thoughts as to a general comparison of the feel of each game or how they would appeal to different people? Thanks.

Haven't played GC2, but I thought Sins was pretty decent.

I enjoyed SoaSE much more than the GC demo I played. SoaSE has a really good pace for an RTS strategy.

Thats a tough choice.

GC2 is the best 4X game to date. But Theres nothing quite out there like Sins. While i've probably put more hours in GC2, i get more into Sins when im in the mood since nothing else satisfies it.

Yea, those are my thoughts, too. I really think GC2 is something special.

My vote is definitely for SoSE, but that's a bit biased. I'm an RTS fan, and while I enjoyed GC2 I thought that SoSE really did well in replicating the steady, strategic pace of a turn based game in an RTS shell... There isn't a single dull moment and you really feel like you're taking on the galaxy. Fantastic game, and quite honestly one of the best RTS games I've ever played.

SoSE. It has rich content, requiring deep, strategic analysis. There's real reasons it had outstanding ratings when it first came out.

One of the few single player games that managed to capture my attention literally for months. They did good with this one.

if you like turn based then Galtic Civ is your best choice and I think it has an expansion now as well. As for sins Solar Empire thats for people who like galatic size maps, space battles and strategy, so you might not like that but its a lot bigger then Galatic Civ, but Galatic Civ can be a fairly big game as well. I don't play any of these games anymore but they were both decent games, Galactic Civ wins I think because you said you prefered turn based, the expansion is out I think, and well you can decide how big you want the game maps to be and how you want to play...simple... SoSE is a game you have to get into or you won't feel bothered to play it because of its depth...I enjoyed it but another game came out and I got bored of it, same with Galatic Civ actually but the expansion to Galatic Civ is out so it might give you reason to install the game again.

Gal Civ 2 is a better game than Sins overall I'd say, and the expansions change GalCiv 2 drastically.... it's an amazing game with it's two expansions. As for Sins, it's great, but your best waiting for Entrenchment because the features coming with that are gonna change the way the game is played tactically. You can't go wrong with either, but if you can get the expansions.

It really depends on whether you prefer a 4X game or a slower paced RTS. Just make sure you get the expansion packs for each game.
