I have an alienware that I got three years ago for high school graduation. It is time to build a new computer or upgrade and I have most of the parts picked out. The only thing is that I don't think the metal plate that the motherboard is on with come out. So is it possible to install all new parts inside the case? or is it too mushc of a hastle. thanks a bunch!

That would be easy to do, IMO, and completely worth it with a sweet Alienware case.

I'd just get a new case if I were you. There's plenty of good cheap stuff on the market, especially the Antec 900 and the CoolerMaster Centurion stuff.

The motherboard tray likely isn't removeable - most aren't. Your motherboard will be screwed into the tray, which is how you take it out.

Well I don't want to buy a case and see that it sucks, cus I already know the alienware case is boss. Then again, I would have to tear apart my current computer and im a noob at build a PC. (never doneit). If i got a new case I would essentially have two PCs as im upgrading mobo, CPU, GPU, HDD, and probably more memory. I guess i got time to decide as im not doin it until at the end of summer. (i think core 2 duo prices are falling, dont know though). thanks!

All you have to do is unscrew the little screws around the motherboard and take it out. Then screw the new ones in and put the parts in.

In my opinion "styled" cases are officially played out; it's time to drop the colored cases with the 'x-tream' panels, windows, and lights and time to go back to classic beige, old school generic cases.

I bloody well agree, although I can't find anything on the market. I have memories of my old Compaq and I'd really like a cheap old school case for my current PC. Does anybody have any links to a respectable model?
