LOOKS LIKE WE'LL GET IT JANUARY 4TH!

Hell ye! Finally a proper expansion pack, that everyone been waiting for! Looks amazing, finnaly a reason to play skyrim again!
I like the 'build your own house' format of Hearthfire. It makes a change from being given a template house that you have no control over how it's customised, unable to move furniture, chests around ect...
But this one just seems like most of the other DLCs that get released for games that are all pretty much the same.
Going to pass on this one.
[QUOTE="Ondoval"]You can use previous characters to play it or you need to create a new one/s as in Oblivion?DraugenCP
You need to create a new character if you want to play "The Order of the Nine" and "The Shivering Isles" expansions in Oblivion; older characters can be still played but they don't gain access to the new content once you install it. I spent over 400 hours on Oblivion, I'm pretty sure about that -don't mind if that is again the case with Skyrim, I did the Oblivion campaign more than one time-. Is just that I want to known about.

I remember clearly that i didn't have to when i got those two. In fact, i haven't ever seen any gamebryo game (TESIV, TESV, FO3, FNV) need that in order for what is basically a mod to work.

You're wrong. You don't need to make a new character for any of the content in oblivion, fallout 3, new vegas or skyrim.I'm gonna play Skyrim next year when I really feel like playing it and some deals are going on and more mods are out. This DLC looks like it's got some meat on its bones which is good to see.
[QUOTE="KalDurenik"]This got me hyped... for morrowind... I need to play that game again...NeonNinja
I also thought of Morrowind when I saw some of the locales and architecture.
probably set there because of some of the hidden files from recent updates making references to morrowind
WOW!!!
I have never played morrowind, but I am super hyped for this!
THIS is the kind of DLC/expansion that fans want!I hope more expansions like this one will be released in the future!

No you don't need...
I played the nine and SI...with the character i made from the beginning

Oblivion didn't require you to do that. I'm pretty sure you can just play with your current character.rhazzy

yeah, the quests just pop up automatically after installing. Or like in skyrim, someone walks up to you and gives it to you or you overhear people talking about world events. No need to begin fresh

Love that gif in your sig lol Anyone know if the console timed exclusivity still applies?Am I the only one here disappointed with another piece of software which Bethesda say is an 'Add on', when they promised only full scale expansions before the game launched? Disappointment after disappointment with this game....gamebreakerz__To be fair, it could be quite large. Solstheim, where it's set, was an expansion for Morrowind before and it wouldn't make a lot of sense for the island to be much smaller than before or anything. I do see where you're coming from tho'.

I fail to see how a new continent (a big one at that) plus new factions, game mechanics, new environments, etc is not a full expansion.

Exactly. I think people are worried because it's coming out so soon - but they likely don't realize that it will have been worked on along side some of the other content, their staff is huge.[QUOTE="gamebreakerz__"]Am I the only one here disappointed with another piece of software which Bethesda say is an 'Add on', when they promised only full scale expansions before the game launched? 'New' continent is not exactly true. They can skip environment design almost entirely if it's going to look the same. Not sure where you're getting the other information, the internet isn't telling me any of that stuff. I really don't think this will be anywhere near the amount of content of something like Shivering Isles. Will most likely be similar to the previous DLC's, which have been more than underwhelming.[QUOTE="wis3boi"][QUOTE="gamebreakerz__"]Am I the only one here disappointed with another piece of software which Bethesda say is an 'Add on', when they promised only full scale expansions before the game launched? Look what Bethesda was saying about Dawnguard. Saying it was a full scale expansion pack, old school style. Not sure how anyone can trust Bethesda anymore. http://kotaku.com/5916595/skyrims-massive-dawnguard-sounds-like-a-proper-old+school-rpg-expansion[QUOTE="wis3boi"][QUOTE="gamebreakerz__"]Am I the only one here disappointed with another piece of software which Bethesda say is an 'Add on', when they promised only full scale expansions before the game launched? the ps3 not being able to handle the DLC isn't helping
