gonna get a second gtx580 as soon as prices are low enough. anything i should do for better cooling? my current is the 1.5 superclocked, will probably get another 1.5 superclocked. on the single card now i'm getting idle 40-45, 70-76 load.

What they said, add more fans to your case, or get a new "cooler" case.

+1 I found just taking the side off helps. It also helps if your case has frame mounted side fans.

alright. the latches on this case make it easy enough, i can do that. went ahead and ordered a backplate and high flow bracket for my current 580. if it gives me a few degrees i'll order them for the next one too.

yeah, there isn't really any place else to mount a fan in my case. got a corsair 650D. has the two stock 200m fans and i added the back stock fan onto my H60 radiator in push pull config to get more cold air in that way.

2. Get more case fans.

If your MB allows it and your two GPUs don't hug each other, you shouldn't really have to worry about heat. My MB let's me run tri-SLI if I wanted at 16x/8x/8x or two in 16x/16x. I used to run two GTX 280s and in 16x/16x the hugged each other. The card on top always ran about 15C hotter all the time. I moved my bottom card to the third PCI-E slot and then the temps ran about the same on both cards.
