Depends, if you have a build that would take advantage of it, SLI is totally worth it. Essentially it will not double fps, but it's almost needed now days if you want to game smoothly at your native res.

Huh? needed? Native res? yeah, if you're playing with a 70 inch LCD.... I play with a 22'' at 1680x1050, I have one video card and every game out there runs at high. As for the post....nah, SLI is over-rated for normal playing....

I think everyone is forgetting one of the major advantages to SLI/Crossfire setups, which is upgradability. If you're not all that worried about running games with maximum details at insane resolutions, then you can just buy an cheaper entry- or mid-range graphics card for now, and drop in a second when you need it in the future. And I know this is still a ways off, but just imagine what having two GPUs could do for GPU-based computing (which Nvidia has already been developing for a few years now). It could be like having a second "core," and I'm quite sure I don't need to point out all the advantages of that. If you're looking for top-quality graphics performance, however, I'd still definitely recommend sticking with just a single high-end card.

No, its really just their if you want to play at higher res.

It also has problems with alot of games.

Maybe in the future companies will take full advantage of SLI. But for now, it means MORE HEAT for your PC, more POWER (so you need a stronger PSU), and more COST of having another video card where you can get the same results with just one.
