I have a tri-sli-capable mobo and aPNY GTS 250 atm. I'd like to get something along the lines of a 275 and have my 250 for physx, but I'm not exactly sure where to place the "Sli-cable" that connects the 2 cards. Can anyone show me a picture of what it would look like?

When it comes to a dedicated PhysX card, I'm pretty sure you don't need to connect them in SLi. You just plug in that GTX 275 in the adjacent slot and change the appropriate settings.

In any case, since you're interested in setting up SLi, then here's a picture to show you where the connector is. It's pretty much one or two ridges on the top of the card closest to the DVI/VGA connectors on the card. Just plug in the SLi cable in the following fashion, and you'll be good to go:

Oh ok, So I'm guessing it would be a bad idea to sli a 250 and a 275 since the 250 would drag down the 275??

This is more of an ATI thing. With Nvidia you can go to the control pannel and set one of the card to be a dedicated PhysX card. The "main" card is left unaffected.

Two GTS250's trade blows with a a single GTX285. I'd just pop another GTS250 1GB in your system and not bother with the extra Physx muscle you're looking for.

I was going to say the same thing. I'm still running a single 8800 and I run physx without a problem. 2 GTS 250's with both capable of and running physx would be a really nice setup.

Don't think so. I SLI'ed two 8600 GT's back in the day, and only required one SLi connector.

im on an sli system, two OCX versions of 8800 gt, running in 16x 16x SLI, (also a 3 way sli board) {btw when you go 3 way sli you will be stuck with 16x 8x 8x, so it would be better to only SLI with 2 cards.. (assuming your mobo allows for 16x, 16x that way}

you should only need 1 sli cable. (and it should have come with your mobo) {im not sure if they come with the videocards or not, sometimes, but not always)

you need 2 of the same model and card to sli....

I'm sorry for the late post, but this is really helping me out. So should I just get another PNY GTS 250 1GB? At least for the time being? I have a 550W PS, would that be sufficient?

actually prolly not, that psu may not be enough, you need to check to see what all +12v rating EACH of your cards require, as well as what your psu can provide.

ok you see how thats 60 amps on a single +12v rating? if your going multiple videocards, its better to have it split up on 2 +12v ratings.. for instance for sli it would be better to have a 750w psu with 2x +12v 32@ than a 750w psu with 1x +12v 60@

you see what im saying.
