Can't comment on sli but crossfire has been working pretty well for me. I haven't had any issues really so far. But again I'm not saying crossfire > sli, as I have no experience with sli. I'm just saying crossfire seems to be pretty reliable. As for your second question I'm not sure about mother boards and stuff but apparently my ram is sli certified and it works with my crossfire configuration with no issues (as far as I know anyways). Hope it helps!

Do you actually have an SLI motherboard? Conventional Intel motherboards are NOT SLI capable, however, they are Crossfire capable. As far as I know, the only Intel motherboard that does SLI is the ASUS P6T Deluxe, which has the Core i7 socket.

At this point in time, 4870X2's in Crossfire > GTX 280's even in Tri-SLI (Due to tri-SLI having horrendous scalability). Wait for GTX 295 and GTX 295 SLI Benchmarks.

No, actually most X58 mobos don't support SLI, or so I've read.

SLI "certified" (or CF too if it even exists) is just a marketing term. SLI certified RAM (or PSU) will work for any type of system.

The new patch has unlocked Stream into ATI cards, it's just like CUDA for Nvidia.
