This is not exactly what the title says, it's about SLi, yes. But how it performs? No, i'm in the Nvidia Control Panel and currently looking at SLI Performance mode, right now the mode is at: Single-GPU and the options to change from that are:

1) Force Split-frame rendering

2) Force alternate frame rendering 1

3) Force alternate frame rendering 2

So what do they mean? And which one do i click on to have best performance?

Well I cant help you on that as I have never used SLI.

If I were you I would just run benchmarks like crysis and 3dmark in every different of those settings and see what works best.Make sure to use a high resolution or if you cant then use insane amounts of AA for your benchmarking. What I mean is use taxing settings.

taken from another forum as i had the same questions:

Split Frame rendering - is where each video card will render half of the same frame.

Alternate Frame Rendering 1 - is where each video card will take turns rendering a single frame by itself

Alternate Frame Rendering 2 - is simply an another version of Alternate Frame Rendering 1 that might work better in some applications, you kinda have to play around with both to find which is better for your purposes.

Single GPU - basically is another way of saying "SLI Off"

I know I'm many years late here but of all the forums I've been to you've been the most helpful and I just want to say thanks!

Also the fact you answered the question and not just say "You should get *insert alternative*" and gave some proper infoearnsyoumajor kudos IMO.

Force alternate frame rendering 2 is by far the best. Use it on my 460s.

That what's it's set to... It's just a round selection, no buttons or anything. I can't pick the SLI method.

Click on another tab like manage 3D settings for example and see if it asks you to save your SLI support. Best to post screens as well.

I think it's been moved...

click "Manage 3D settings"

You will see two tabs now, make sure you are on "Global Settings"

About midway down under the "feature" column, you will see "SLI Rendering Mode"

Use the preset thats determined for the game. Unless its a new game or a game thats giving you problems that when you should play with the types of framing.
