So I was thinking that instead of spending 350+ dollars on the 8800GTS 640mb, I would just get 2x 8600GT's (256mb), which one run me around 240 dollars. Performance wise, do you guys think this would put out decent frames? Games Like Medieval 2: Total War and Company of Heroes are very demanding, and I don't really know if SLI'ing another 8600GT would be worth it.

Well, if your going to buy a new video card now, you have to think about the future when DX10 is everywhere... You will get better peformance with a single 8800GTS. If you end up buying an extra 8600GT, you MAY feel insecure about yourself and end up buying an 8800GTS which will be more money out of your wallet. I think you should save yourself all the trouble and just pay for an 8800GTS.

Go for one 8800. It's a shame how useless SLI is for mid-range cards, really. :(

I would suggest a single 8800GTS... XFX PVT80GGHF4 GeForce 8800GTS 320MB for $250 after mail-in rebate.
