Now when i install it ...... and boot I hear 3 short beeps...... and then a restart and the process continues for 2-3 times and then the computer stays on but no video out..... :( i tried both the vga and dvi output on the vga.... please help... What does three short continuous beep mean?

You're lucky to be getting beeps at all. Check out this page: http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm

If the problem only happens when you put in the card, make sure it's seated securely and that your PSU is sufficient.

It only happens when i put in the card......

So 3 short beeps from that site and according to msi forums say that it is base 64k ram failure.... What does that mean.... Without the gpu my computer runs perfectly ........... So does that mean there is problem with the VRAM?

That's indeed very strange. How powerful is your PSU? That's another factor to look into. Aside from that, you can still try testing individual RAM modules in different slots and see if it helps anything.

Edit: If all fails and your PSU is sufficient, it could be a mobo problem.

Its a 550 watt psu ....... Why would it not run this card. This runs off the pcie slot.... No external connectors required.... Without the graphics card my computer runs perfectly..... So Should i still reseat my 1 ram modules?

you should disable onboard graphics in bios for a start. do the graphics card fans spin up? if youve installed it correctly and it doesnt work, perhaps its dead. maybe the ram has gone on it

i reset everything in bios to default, then blew in the pci express slot and it worked... Cherios :)
