I currently am using an AMD x2 550be and I successfully unlocked the 3rd and 4th cores for it. It gave me about a 20-30 fps boost in BFBC2 yay!! Anyway is it safe to keep these cores unlocked? Is there a way to make sure they are stable? Also I need to upgrade my graphics card. Im stuck with a xfx 9800 gt right now, what would be a good upgrade for around 150 bucks?

Honestly mate this is the 3rd time you have asked on the forums about it, the thing is we cant say if its gonna be stable its up to you if you wanna take the risk and leave them unlocked or not. On one hand its working now but on the other hand remember they were locked for a reason and maybe couldnt handle the stress prior.

Keep your 9800 until atleast Christmas time.. No modern games are taking advantage of the DX11 features properly....

I don't know about your question on the cpu,but if you already have a 9800gt you can't get an upgrade for $150..at least not one that justifies those $150

If the CPU is stable and the temps are fine i'd say you're ok probably.

If you want to make sure they are stable, use prime95 and leave it to run for a few hours. Remember to watch your temperatures in the process
