So you bought 'Cryisi' but now complain sound problems from your WAR game....so you pointed out your video card...and that is the reason you hate PC games.....

and yes, try updating your sound drivers.

I think you might be the first one that has that serious problems with the sound from a pc game since the MS-Dos days.

Just like the others said update your drivers

Yep, not to sound like a broken record but update the drivers, if that fails then visit the tech support forum for Crytek, is there one? Anyways, sometimes PC games can be a bit hard to get up and running, but truth be told it's all worth it in the end.

WAR and Crysis are in two entirely separate leagues in terms of taxing your computer. Don't be surprised if one game works well, and the other gets bogged down. That's why they post minimum and recommended hardware specifications on the boxes.

Hating on the PC in a PC forum in a rude way is for sure the best way to get a polite response. I've never heard of a 4830 combo GPU and sound card device. Is it a laptop? Any way I just had to ask now I'll go back to not caring.

ALL ATI HD cards come with built in audio so all you have to do is use HDMI to get pic and sound. This is nothing new. but my gripe is with the fact that this one game will not output sound will everything els works like it should

What about the sound setting in Crysis? Check their settings and see if they are at a high enough level to be heard.

Spelling and punctuation are your friends....give them a try ..... :) ....My spelling sucks, I always use spell check.

I also think it may be the drivers on your sound card....You might want to make sure you have un-installed all the old drivers first. Then use something such as Driver Sweeper to eliminate any traces that may cause corruption of any newly installed drivers.

Or try un-installing Crysis and re-installing it again.

The problem is the person sitting on the chair across from the monitor connected to the computer running the Radeon HD 4830 video card. Your problem persists from when you quit PC gaming 5 years ago. You should attempt to remedy it rather than whining. (i.e. use google and other powerful tools at your disposal to become less ignorant)

The OP was gone from PC games 5 yrs ago.... bummer he came back to gripe. His issue reeks of user error. he should prolly turn around and go back to the console corner. Any dummy with an index finger can push the power button on a console. Troubleshooting isnt the OP's forte seems like. lol

operating a pc isn' for everyone, if he's more comfortable using a system where everything is laid out infront of him where all he has to do is press differently coloured buttons, let him.

p.s. if sound is working for every other programs onyour computer except for this game. perhaps you just muted the sound in the game setting, check in your sound settings for crysis first

The TC could have just said, "Help! Crysis has no sound. Other games, like Warhammer work fine. What's the problem?" The replies after would have probably been less rude and more helpful.

PC gaming is an enthusiast's hobby, its not for casual gamers.

We tweak, patch, edit .ini files...and we do it all with a smile on our faces. Unless you can do the same, I suggest you go back to an xbox or something.

Okay the dude started the post in a bad way but do we need to lower us to the same level or even worse??

I mean a 5 year old could have been more helpfull at this point then most of you guys where (even if you think "we are the Uber elitist pc gamer guys who know it all ")

Or could we just ignore his ignorance and try to help the poor dude ?

We should know more about your system then just your graphics card.

( sound card or what kind of onboard sound you have, cpu, windows ?, ramm )

if you don't know what hardware you have you could also download everest http://www.lavalys.com/products.php?ps=UE⟨=en&page=48

then you will know what brand soundcard you have and you will be able to look for newer drivers.

you could also try and google for crysis no sound.

good luck

and just because you have a problem with 1 game doesn't mean pc gaming or the game sucks it could also be a problem on your own system

A word of advice: if you want to be taken seriously, take youself seriously first. I men rly if i sturted typin lik diz I wouldn git meny respnoses.

As others have said, try updating your motherboard/sound card drivers. If you're using your 4830 as a sound device, I recommend trying out your motherboard audio after updating it.

This is the funniest thread ever. Bookmarked!

Well now, to the issue at hand.

So the game is working with sound in Windowed mode...interesting. Well, here are a few things you need to check:

1. Sound settings in Crysis

2. If you are using Vista, check the sound for the application. For all you know, that could be the problem

3. I am not sure what your sound/video setup is, but try using your motherboard onboard drivers and see what happens.

Getting games to work is a simple matter of troubleshooting :D

And don't hate PC gaming dude. ITs a whole lot of fun.

if it's that much of a problem, get a new sound card. You can pick up a decent one for like $20 man.
