Do I need to

1: buy WOW

2: buy the wrath of whatever king expansion

3: buy the burning crusade expansion

4: get to like Lv.80 without help, because everyone is like already max level with full top equips

5; buy the new Cataclysm expansion when it comes out in oct 2010

that is a lot of stuffs need buying, i'd rather gad Bad Company 2.

Theres alot of Groups going low level dungeons since they implemented Cross Server instances, so your not leveling alone if you do Dungeons. And yes you need the expansions, probably won't need wotlk until you get to lvl 68.

Oh :o The Burning Crusade comes before The Wrath of the Lich King. Also, I think you can buy them all in one neat pack.

WoW is a great time sink, although if going through the whole process of getting the game plus the expansions seems to much trouble for you, you might aswell wait for BFBC2 and stick to it :)

well that's kind of BS, the game plus all those expansions add up to a pretty big number. and you still have to play the monthly fees....

they should just include everything in the latest expansion.

Well theres 5 years of patching and content behind the Game. The Money is totally worth it compared to the crappy Games coming out lately.

No. If you want to start WoW you only need WoW, which costs around 6 Euro now here. There's no point in buying the expansions right away because you won't see those areas for a long time anyway. Unless you want to play a bloodelf but those are for little girls anyway.

yea but they had plenty of players buying those games, and they all have been paying monthly fees, why do they still need to tax so hard on new players, it just scares everyone way......

I mean how do I know if I'm gonna like my $150 game? you can try for 10 days or whatever but you can't get to the real game in 10 days. but if it's like $30 then it wouldn't matter that much.

Long time? like what max 2 weeks? o_0

Get them all if you really want to start WoW.

And there really is no point to discuss with you why WoW needs monthly fees, if you didn't understand till now chances are you'll still demand it to be free to play even after you see those valid arguments that should be more than clear to anyone.

10 days aren't enough? 10 days are enough for absolutely any game, no matter how big it is, they should really make the trial for 4 or 5 days, 10 days is really "way" too much. Also what 150$ game...what are you talking about? WoW should be around 15$, BC around 20 and WotLK around 30 or 35$, and you get 30 days included then 15$ for 1 month, that means max 85$ for 2 months add another 4 months and it still isn't 150$ :/, I can't believe you would play WoW for 6 months straight considering your comments, I doubt you'll get to 145$ so...?

Wait for the next expension!! Because the whole game is getting a reboot. Cataclysum the next expension is going back to the old world. And they are redesign the whole game from bottom - up. And letting old races have new classes, so there will be 100s of people starting from level 1. Also you will be able to get WOW, TBC and Wrath all cheap probs in a WOW chest box set. So hold on for a few months!!!

I'm not saying they shouldn't take monthly fees, I'm saying cause they already have the monthly fees they shouldn't sell the game boxes for that much.

I know WOW is one of the best games ever made, I have played and know F2P games are crap, don't assume only WOW players know that.

I wouldn't say that it's one of the best games ever created, not at all but the artistic style is superb (any Blizzard game is like that) and I love the PvP.

Don't really count on a triple pack, I doubt Blizz will make that move since there already is a WoW battlechest which should be around 25$ or so, for WoW and BC, if they will make a new pack it'll be with WotLK and Cataclysm but that won't happen for at least a year after its release. Don't think you'll save much even if you wait for another half an year maybe almost one year (not months since Cataclysm won't be released in just a few months), you won't save more than maybe 10$ if you get the Battlechest for 25$ and WotLK for 30$ prices that should be available everywhere, if they aren't at your local stores then search for other stores.

Just buy the Battlechest. It includes a free month. Play it for a while. Level past the trial account cap which is 20. Hell, if you're going to be that skint about it. Get the trial, play the hell out of it for 10 days, reach level 20 and then when you start your free month you can start off from 20 instead of 1. If you like it and you've hit 68 buy Wrath of the Lich King. Level to 80, raid, pvp and whatnot. If you're still not satisfied, then oh well. You sank some time into a game that really grabbed you by the balls because you were bothered to level to 80 ;)

If you havent already started playing maybe its best to hold off until the next xpak. The final fight of the Woltk is open next wednesday. (never can be sure though, not after what happened in TBC)

It's still a rip off. :P It's either cheap game with monthly fee, or full price game with small or no fee. Not expensive game and expensive monthly fee.

Not that expensive considering they have a battlechest that comes with Vanilla and BC wow, then you just need to buy Wotlk which you can probably find for pretty cheap.
