any good charecters builds or useful stats?

how long is the game?

is the story of this game really as amazing as i hear it is?

i hear theres multiple endings without spoiling it is it easy to miss these different endings also is there one ending that makes the others look like crap that i should be gunning for?

Imho, it's very well-written. Some of its humor makes you chuckle out loud. Brilliant game.

I wish I could have finished this game, it has great reviews from both critics and players. I only made it to the main city, but then got lost in the story and quests. Hopefully they made a HD version soon.

What I love most is how alien the world, the characters and the lore is. It makes your typical fantasy seem perfectly ordinary. It's one of those games you'll never forget playing as it's so unique.

There are mods to increase the resolution (even adjusts the UI). You can make it HD provided you have a monitor that goes that high.

Yes, I've read about them. All I need now is the actual game and time to play it, lol (I lost it when I moved houses once) Why I want the HD version though is for speech, I used to love reading all that text back in the day, not now though ...

I don't know why but for some reason, Planescape Torment is easy to misplace. :P My buddy lost his copy when he moved out to Los Angeles, and I did as well. I ended buying a copy from eBay and we ended up sharing it. Wonderful game.

So true.... I misplaced it the first time (found it about a year later), then really lost it in the move. Can you buy me a copy? lol....

GoG has it for $10 and it comes with the soundtrack + some other goodies. Highly recommend checking it out if you can figure out the time issue. The first time I beat it was over a week I had off after exams. Must have spent 8 hours a day on it until I finished it and was blown away by the ending.

Dude, that's hardcore, lol....

I have read on one of those MOD WebPages that it is better to get the 2-Disc Edition, since it incoporates fixes in it ?

Yeah, I do 4 hours a day max usually because of school and other things but the game doesn't let go. If the GoG version doesn't have all the fixes look for a fixpack. The modding community hunted down a lot of the bugs and fixed them in a really large patch.

Yes, there is a mod page which guides you through all the steps of patching, looks like it takes longer to patch than to play.....hahahahah

Pump points into wisdom and intellignece to get the most out of the story. Yes the story is the best story ever written in a video game. Yes the game is very long and has a powerful ending. The combat is satisfying is this game, but its not all that well balenced. My main character was worthless in the majority of combat situations, your party members are the ones who are going to dish out the most damage.

JangoWuzHere

Glad someone took the job to write a reall good advice. Do this and you will have a legendary of a great time

Edit: Oh, but I dont understand why his main character was worthless at fights. Mine turned out to be one f the most awesome, powerful mage ever conceived in the digital world

I just went passed EB Games on my lunch break. They have TORMENT there (DVD Version) at $29, might buy it (yes, I know its $10 online but I like my boxes). They also had the complete Baldurs Collection for $29. Torment ok with Win7 Ultimate 64bit?

very VERY tempted to buy it. I have yet to see a critic/player say something bad about it. Problem isn't the money Problem isn't Win7 (thx to you for that) Problem isn't installing mods Problem IS finding time to play it, lol...

Really? I played as a mage and never felt like I was doing all that much damage. I never got to the point were I could get the better spells. The game ends before you reach your max potential. Maybe if I grinded out XP, but thats not a thing I like to do.

I did grind for XP and was abble to cast the most powerful spells by late mid game. I loved the game so much that killing for experience was not a hassle at all

You start off as a fighter, but you can learn to be a mage or a thief early on. I feel like being a mage fits the story the best, but maybe thats just me.

Ahh cool, cause from the main character, he doesn't look like a mage at all....lol.... more like a barbarian. Also, a lot of people say it has a "powerful" ending. Without any spoilers, why do people use the word 'powerful" to describe it?

I don't want to describe it, I feel like if I did I would just spoil it somehow. Just play the game and find out

Wisdom, Intelligence, and Charisma are the most important attributes in that order. This is more of a talking game honestly.

Cool thx, but putting points into those categories... will it leave my character weak for combat? Does the party make up for this?

Initially yes, but later on you will get very strong. The party do cover you on the early moments though. If you do like I did, you will get rewarded for choosing the hardest route, just like in real life

Well the other skills are important, but NOT as important. I would put points into Dextarity and Constitution. I don't know about strength considering I played mostly as a mage.
