I really want to try WoW but like 15$ a month seems like a lot.

This is an age old debate and you won't find a clear cut answer. Those for the monthly fee say it is worth it because you pay $15 a month and only spend time and money on WoW while those against say other games that are cheaper or you have are totally free online and take up the same time if not more. I personally don't mind the fee as the game is cool for what little I played and got roughly 100 hours (summer break with like 4 hours a day adds up) for something like $50, give the trial a run and see how you like it.
It's a carefree, relatively simple, easy to get into MMO, which seems like the main appeal for many.
Why don't you just try out the trial and see for yourself? If you care about the monthly fees, you'll subconciously play it more then you might want to, which might not be the best thing.

Well, "a lot" depends on two things
1. How much fun you have with WoW
2. How many games per month you buy
Concerning issue 1, provided you have fun with WoW, then yes it is worth it. This is purely subjective, though, so I recommend giving the trial a shot.
Concerning issue 2, WoW is worth it unless you somehow manage to buy less than 4 games a year. 15 bucks a month is far, far cheaper than a once per month game purchases, and even cheaper than a once per two month game purchase.
WoW is definately worth it in my situation. It delivers near-infinite gameplay, allows me to bide my time concerning new game releases, and it is a lot of fun
I swore I would never play wow. Now some friends of mine have started again on a new server and I need something to do until I get a full time job lol so I might go for it.
Bah damn the games are expensive now. Were on sale just before cata for much cheaper.
End game is very time consuming. While they change the loot drop system, you are still competing with a number of people with loot in the 0-20% drop rate. Which is why I played on a PvP server. Much easier getting PvP gear as it requires more on skill rather than reading DBM and spamming Vent.k0r3aN_pR1d3
What do you mean by end game?
5-man dungeons? Then youre wrong; its not time consumign at all, especially given the recent change to currency (justice points). Anyone can get suited up in tier 10 gear in a matter of a week or two of very casual play.
If you mean raids, then yes, I agree with you that it can be time consuming. It does not have to be, though, but unfortunately it generally is.
Either way, there is so much to do at the top levels of WoW that can be done both casually and hardcore, no one can really complain.
Im new to the game (1 month) and I now have a lvl 45 character. I find it fun just to log-in for just over an hour most nights and just find a dungeon to do with the dungeon finder.
I am enjoying the game so far, its good.

[QUOTE="RaIn285"]That was SUPER QUICK.. I present to you the most important trophy of all. "Winner of most stupid comment of the week" Congratulations... Although blunt and not well put the guy has a point it costs alot which brings money away from your social life and if you want to be good at the game then you need to put alot of hours into it which can also eliminate your social time. Basically if you haven't got alot of time to spare this game is not really for you.If you want to loose your real life then go for it.

Just that 25 man's give more loot drops to compensate with higher number of people.

Not true if you want to be the best at this game then yes it will take a ton of time if you want to play the game on a casual basis then no it can take as much or as little time as you want to.If you want to loose your real life then go for it.
