My mom wanted to get me the game Killing Floor on Steam because I want it and it went on sale recently but when she created an account and purchased the game, she did for her own account not as a gift. Do you think their customer service will be able to do anything if I ask or will I be forced to play the game on that account only?

I doubt you will get much help from Steam Customer Service.

Hmmm. It really depends. Maybe if your mom didn't play it at all or just started it up, because maybe they'll think that you didn't like the game so you want to give it to a friend. They should though. It would be the right thing to do.

Game hasn't been started but the account was made just today so hopefully they'll let it go. Will probably call em tomorrow. I really hope I can get it back :(, I was really enjoying the game during the free weekend.

It's possible they could do it for you since it's a new purchase, hasn't been played and you got the proof of purchase (receipt). I've read on Steam forums of people who managed to transfer games with the help of support.

EA did this for me when I made the same mistake on Origin - I'm sure if EA would then Valve would

EA has better support, they "usually" do these things.

@TC, remember Steam support is too awesome to have a phone number, you will not call them, you will have to make a ticket and wait days, at that time they'll either give you a "ok...fine...we're doing this just this once....because you are a valued customer >_>...here take" or "no, forbidden".

As long as she haven't installed the game, she can just send the game via Steam Trading.

Only works if the game was purchased as a gift.

The company that till recently threatened to disable accounts for trading available gifts, will never allow you to trade games you already own on your accounts, just because you never played/installed them, them accepting gift trading recently is one thing, but they will "never" let you trade games from your account, because it's illegal, against their rules and developers/publishers.

Agreed. Had something similar happened to me recently. They were of no help at all, just a waste of time.

Welp sent a ticket yesterday and hopefully will get an answer within a week. If not it's no big, I'm sure it'll go on sale again eventually and I can just play on the other account till then :P. Was only $5 not gonna hold a grudge for it. Thanks for all the help!

They might help. A friend of mine had a similar issue where a friend activated his copy of DoW2 on a different account, but he had Chaos Rising on his main one. They added the game to his account with no issue when he asked support.
