Well? What did you buy for yourself? Or maybe even give away?

I totally buy stuff when I need it, so I don't really treat myself on Christmas. I just bought this :P It's smexy

And a 10$ keytronic usb keyboard.

And uh, I decorated my site for Christmas? Does that count? www.3dslice.net

I want to hear what you wasted money on :D (And if you didn't because of random economy kamikaze, sorry :( )

Bought myself a 23" Samsung monitor with tuner. I'll bolt my Revo to the back for streaming video and use it as a PC/TV in the bedroom.

I got a 5970 and gave one of my 5870s to a buddy for free lol. I got a coolermaster HAF 932, a Epsion WiFi printer. Thats it for hardware, well Igot a 32inch 1080p Insignia TV. Then a couple of games ( Dragon Age, Batman AA, and MW2). IDK if this counts, but I also paid off my Bioshock 2 CE, and Mass Effect 2 CE.

TrentDondasKhan

I'm going to get me one of these next week =)

I bought 1x 2GB DDR2 800 RAM to put in my mothers PC and formatted her HDD and put Windows 7 on it.

Also bought WD 250 GB my passport external HDD for my sister to put all of her music and videos on. Also installed 2GB of my old laptop memory on her laptop and upgraded her to Windows 7.

Yea I'm liking that Dirt 2 that came with the 5870. Used to have a cheap wheel years ago and I miss it. Reading reviews of the G27 talking about playing Dirt 2 makes me want one, along with a stand for it. Really be sweet in front of the 50" plasma.

I have to work hard for this stuff though, I'm on call 24/7 for the railroad if theres a problem in my territory. Been quiet so far tho *knock on wood*

Alot of games allow your car to be faster using the manual, and you also need to drift constantly in Dirt 2 so you need to be at high rpms in lower gears, don't know if the auto will compensate for that or shift up so your rpms are low.

Oh yeah, it's pretty much built for that. Heavy gaming is out of the question, though. I also need to pick up another drive for my NAS, the DVDs I'm ripping are starting to eat up the space I've got.

I build my little brother (he just turned 14 on the 22nd) a new PC for his birthday/Christmas. Athlon II 240 2.8ghz, 4GB RAM, 9600gt 512mb, 320GB HDD, Win7 home premium 64-bit... Quite an upgrade from his P4/1GB RAM/6200 rig.

Sir, welcome to the world of the railway, some days are great other days really suck and being on call when nothing happens is great.;) (More time for gaming)

Anyway back on topic I bought myself a nice new 5850 and a Razer Salmosa

That's a pretty basic model, and driver updates have solved a lot of the issues he's having with playback performance. That or he's using some bloated programs. Mine's got Windows 7, 4GB of memory and built-in wireless. About the only thing I've found it unable to handle is 720p iTunes content, as iTunes barely touches the GPU for decoding. I was going to build my own but the price of parts is basically the same as the upper model Revo 3610, especially with memory being the way it is.

Had a similar upgrade in August. Went from a P4/512mb/Intel Graphics/XP --> C2D@3.2/4GB/4850/Windows 7

The difference is awsome :P

hmm does your desktop happen to be a pre-built? I can tell since most of them use 300 watt power supplies and I know that anyone in their right mind wouldn't go out and buy a 300 watt power supply for a gaming computer lol :).
