I don't know, I find myself really thirsty on a good new rpg too. Only thing that looks interesting to me that might be released later this year is Nuclear Union, a russian Falloutesque RPG.

Other than that only thing that looks interesting to me is coming out next year. (The Witcher 3, DA:Inquisition etc.) Unless I forgot something.
I mean if your willing to let console ports be an options, the new tomb raider, bioshock infinite etc. are good RPGs, they're more linear I know, but they give the same "RPG" feel to them.Lemozadeplayed them both already. Bioshock's ending was mind blowing, tomb raider was alright.
The new Shadowrun came out about a month or so ago. It's a bit light on content but it's some great, old-school Cyberpunk RPG action and there's a wealth of community content coming out for it, plus at least one more campaign by the developers.
Wasteland 2 will probably be a much more robust use of that engine and on par with a Fallout or Skyrim game in terms of content, but it won't be out till later this year. Technically it's scheduled for "October" but since they haven't nailed it down to a specific day I'm worried it may get pushed back a bit.

Wasteland 2 looks great..If its oct ill be excited was expecting next march lol..Might and magic x when its out got that old school feel to it..Really like the setting..
I you haven't played Fallout: New Vegas I'd recommend it - probably one of the best RPGs in recent years. Has tons of content, a good faction system, lots of choices to make with quests and is deeper then it seems to get credit for. It is a bit let down by the wonky engine and janky animations but it's pretty stable in the most recent versions.
I've also been playing Divinity 2 - I think it's a bit underrated. It has some older style design choices in modern clothing as RPGs go...not a lot of handholding and it can be quite challenging at times - definitely more for veteran RPG gamers. Nice music too.
As for games this year, Wasteland 2 is the one that has my interest the most.

Fallout: NV is quite good, but like you said, the engine really lets it down. Honestly, I'd prefer an isometric RPG over a game with so many graphical glitches and horrible controls.I you haven't played Fallout: New Vegas I'd recommend it - probably one of the best RPGs in recent years. Mount & Blade: Warband is a fantastic sandbox RPG with extremely open-ended quests. Basically, your thrown into this giant world to do what you must to leave your mark. From becoming a powerful mercenary with a crew of equally powerful companions & army etc., to conquering the entire world. There's a shit ton of things to do.
It's one of my favorite RPGs of all times, for single player i recommend Prophesy of Pendor, and for the multiplayer i recommend cRPG.
For PC, I would say an underrated one is Alpha Protocol (2010 I think). It has its flaws definitely, but it is actually a fun game.
I would love a more fleshed out sequel, or spiritual successor to it.
There is also The Last Remnant which is slightly older (2009 maybe)
And of course Mass Effect.
Kingdoms of Amalur sucked , although there were some great rpg elements but the game failed to deliver a RPG feel ... such an extensive world but such a pity that it was poorly built(except for some places)geniobastardoI agree, KoA was the most overhyped sorry excuse of an RPG, Ken Rolston in the works used to mean something back in the days.
play temple of elemental evil.. you want something more recent play Knights of the Chalice voljin1987
