-Well considering Crysis and Orange Box went so fast I'm curious as to what is a good RPG to get into. Basically here'stheRPGs I've played in the past starting my favorite: Morrowind, Pokemon, Knights of theOld Republic, hmm..... wow I really haven't played a whole lot of RPGs. Well the one's I didn't care for are Oblivion andBioshock (if thiseven counts as an RPG).

-SoI've been consideringMMORPGs andGuild Wars peaked my interest considering it has nomonthly fee as I'd hate thefeeling ofwanting to play just tojustify theprice I pay per month and I've heard plenty of good things about it. I haven't written WoW off quite yet asif its as amazing as I've heard I might be able to make an exception about the wholepay per monththing. Umm... yeah I've heard really good thing about the Witcherso this was also on my possibility list.

-I guessI just don't knowenough aboutany of these games or hell any other RPGs for that matter. Just pretty picky about what games I play and well little things can kill an RPG as what I believe happened to Oblivion (enemies leveling up with you, LAME!!!).Just not sure if I wanna take that step into MMO games or not but from my experience of switching fromSP FPS games to playing competively onlineI'm kinda excited for a change in the RPG genre. So basicallyI'm asking is GuildWars some where around the lines of Morrowind/pokemon, is there exploration,is leveling up significant? IsWitcher a safe route to go or should I give WoW a shotconsideringthegames I've likedin the past. Thanks for your time.

The Witcher is my favorite RPG in years. BTW, I'm playing the uncensored version (bought from www.gogamer.com). Not sure how big the differences are between edited and un-edited (other than the naked chick cards).

well guild wars is fun ive played it for aorund 40 hours so far. U can only lvl up to 20 but dont b discouraged because theres plenty of guilds, alliance battles, farming, pvp, guild vs guild, alliance(group of guilds) vs alliance etc. there strategy because u can only have 8 skills unlike WoW, geez fill the whole screen with 10 jillion skills. You can pick two professions, u get the look and skills of ur primary and only skills for ur secondary. wen u enter the places where theres monsters, its only u and ur party(u can pick computer friends lol or u can party up w/ ur friends or strangers u kno LFG type of thing), this can b good cuz theres no respawning unless u enter portal and come bak, or it could b bad cus ya there are no respawns. uh ya plenty of items, no auction house, no mounts and perty fun if ur lookin into GW, i was in the same situation as u but ive played WoW and have no money so the best one the get was GW.

And if ur deciding which of the three to buy(factions, prophecies, nightfall) they all play in the same servers so dont wry about lots of ppl playin the original or more playing the latest one, u can get the expansion too same idea. it just depends on which of the new classes u want but u can get the other two, like if u buy nightfall u only get the original classes + the two new ones, not the two from factions. i own factions mainly cuz nightfall was rather expensive for me i got a good deal on facitons so ya

I like Guild Wars, but I haven't played that for a few months. It gets boring.

You can't really go wrong with the Witcher. If you like story driven RPGs, then definitely give this game a shot. Best I've played since Morrowind.

lol just to oust your 40 hours completely... my friend has seen how much time he put into everquest 2 and its now above 2000 hours hahaha. anyways, i play everquest 2 also and its definitely the biggest, most detaiiled, most thoughtout MMORPG, and most feature filled game out there no doubt about it. The PVP is crazy fun and the quests are not boring like WoWs. Anyways if your looking for a game to give your life away, Everquest 2... but i dont think youve played any so idk, its kinda a harder, more advanced one so maybe GW first, then other games like EQ2

The Witcher is definitely something you shouldn't miss out on. Combat is a little different and the beginning sequences are kinda long before you can get into the "sandbox" part of the game. Doesn't matter whether you get the censored or uncensored version since the naked chick cards are not really important to the game. Graphics are not top-notch (in light of Crysis) but are definitely still great.

The Witcher.A fantastic story-driven RPG that is set in a "new kind" world of fantasy. One filled with destruction and despair.A dark world. The graphics are very good and the gameplay is even better. You absolutely cannot go wrong with The Witcher. It's the best RPG I have played since KOTOR 1 & 2

I really want to get the witcher. I'd go with that one. As for WoW, best MMO i've played, I love it. Definitely worth at least the free trial to see what you think of it. Guild Wars is a lot of fun too. Lots of strategy involved with choosing your skill sets. Can't really go wrong with any of these games IMHO.

Going to have to go with The Witcher. I hear great things about it and it has the feel of an old school rpg if you are into that sorta thing. I also hear that Two Worlds is much better after the 1.6 patch.

If you like shooters as well as RPGs you might want to give Tabula Rasa a try. Its an MMO which is a cross between an RPG and a FPS. It's been getting semi-decent reviews, and some WoW players have been switching to it. Because it has only recently been launched there are currently a few things that need improvement, but most MMOs are like this at launch. Maybe wait until the first main patch. The main drawback is the $15 a month fee - but if you can afford it then well worth the shot IMO.

you could always pull out deus ex. that was revlutionary in its time and still kicks most RPGs in the balls. and why is WOW so good anyway. from what i see (my brother plays) is all you do is get a quest where you have to kill xmany animal or gather x many peices of fruit. seems a bit tedious to me...

Neverwinter nights. The diamond edition has a 40+ hour game plus all the expansions for a dirt cheap price. Plus you can build and DM your own online world.

i played guild wars about 2600+ hours and i also have several lvl 70 characters in world of warcraft

while witcher is the best rpg i played, it only last for 3-4 days or so, then you get the credits movie and bye bye, no life to put into ^^

now guild wars and wow are both beautiful; guild wars has a shallow and less complex pve but the pvp is the best - skill based; and no monthly fees

and wow is the opposite, the pve experience is richer but the pvp is well.. gear based

i say try guild wars since its free, and switch to wow when you get borred :D

ah yes i have everquest 2 and lord of the rings online too, although both have 30 days subscription included, i coudlnt play either of them for more then 3 days

switching from wow to everquest like i did, isnt quite recommended so you wont apreciate the game as it should, it looks too old now

and lord of the rings for someone who didnt like the books or the movie is just MEH
