If it's coming out in November why havn't we heard anything about it? It's SOF and no one is talking about it? It's probably a cheap cash-in and the publishers don't want anyone to see how horrible it is so all the old fans will buy it. I hope that isn't true.EndersAresThat could be the case. It could also be that they want to keep a low profile after Manhunt 2 recieved an AO rating.
Looking real good..I hope it does justice to the series..I can't wait to play it!!!!!DarkSidexxxI also hope that it does justice to the series because I am a huge fan of the series, but I can't help but think that it could be a cheap cash-in like EndersAres pointed out.
Man, if this is really coming out this November its going to fail miserably. Even if its awesome, there are so many huge games coming out that month that this game will just get buried. If this is the first we've heard of it and its coming out in just over a month, theres no way it'll sell.Vyse86Actually it was "announced" a while ago... before E3. Still there hasn't really been anything else about it since it was "announced".
those screenshots look pretty spectacular, but i think it's a given that the first batch of released screenshots are always doctored, or outright fakes - or concept images posing as screenshots
as for the game coming out in november, this has to be an error - it would be listed on sites like amazon already, and it's not on the uk or usa site
whoever said november probably got it wrong, unless it's november 08

they are most certainly not fake. Doctored up a little mabye. The textures and environments look really excellent, and I dont see how they could have doctored up those aspects. It looks like pretty convincing in-game footage and why shouldn't it be, the game is only 1 month away. Anyways even though I have heard jack squat about this game up until this thread, I am greatly anticipating it. If the gameplay can manage to live up to the SOF name, and wrap it all up in a sleak looking package, this game will most certainly pwn.
Even though it is being published by Activision Value(developer is Cauldron) I'm hoping we will be pleasantly surprised..I want to be optimistic on this one..I REALLY want it to be good!!!!!DarkSidexxxWell I was surprised by the graphics which are amazing for a value game (if that is what it is)... if they spent a lot of time with the gameplay then this game will probably be great.

Aww dude...if this game blows I'm gunna be pissed. Why turn an awesome franchise into a crappy one? Why not just make a whole new crappy franchise?

That game footage does look really bad and seeing the last game Cauldron made used the COD2 engine it definately looks like they dusted it off and used it again for this game:cry:
I PRAY that footage is NOT THE REAL GAME!!!!!!
However, after having watched the footage several times, and putting all of my hopes & fears as a fan aside. i won't deny it looks dissapointing as hell, but the last part of the video throws me off, the one where it says:
"Global following of loyal and enthusiastic fans"
"One of the highest concepts tested to date (31% take rate)"
"Over 1 million units sold"
This doesn't seems like the merchandising language used in gaming, it looks like a stolen video from an Activision Business Meeting, like reasons why to pursue this project.
It says Highest concepts tested...where? when? how? higher than existing concepts? like CoD4, TF2, Crysis??
Also, 1 million units sold? same questions apply ,where? when? how? it hasn't been officially released and it's sold already 1 million units?? what did they do?threw a million copies offa plane over Teheran??
besides even ifGHoul and Raven weren't participating, the game would at least have the same weapon models as SOF II or even I, whereas in SOFII there was a certain resemblance to the ones in SOF I
In other words i feel this footage is not authentic and doesn't represent any resemblance to the aesthetics that have made SOF famous, I know about the Raven and Ghoul but still... similar cases have happened before
I don't recall any specific ones in the gaming realm but i remember one in the Music area, when Rammstein, was near the release of their third studioalbum "Mutter" there was an mp3 of one of their singles "Rein Raus" when i heard it, it seemed nothing similar to Rammstein, however people got used to it, when the album finally came out, the fans found out that they were listening to a fake song altogether.

i've been DYING to see this series hit a third title...not really lookin forward toit now. not confident its gonna be good at all.
the only third title im anxiously waiting for (please let it happen) is avp3 ... maybe theyll grace us with its presence after the movie sequel hits the screens.
AvP with next-gen physics and graphics...mmm...definitely be the scariest game out

nah, hardly. AvP 1 was more "hardcore" than the sequel IMO, and with the current trend of dumbing down games it'll probably be some easy cookie cutter game. People can't afford to make difficult games anymore :(

yeah good point, but the multi player in AvP2 was significantly better IMO. wait, this is a Sof3 thread...im gonna start a new one for AvP
Iam hoping that was just some very early and simple developer demo footage thrown together for a sales pitch to make the game.It does seem that way by the text at the end of the clip...DarkSidexxxYeah it was probably pretty early either that or those screenshots on the poster are severally doctored.
notice that the news never mentioned anything about SoF "3", so i'm guessing it's a minor standalone expansion of some sort. Activision isn't having any trouble, and there's no reason why it would throw away a successful franchise.
