now what ive noticed is that some games that is not really well optimized for high end cards freezes and gets BSOD.. One of my friend has a 5870 and im curious why he has so many different overclocking profiles on rivatuner, i noticed that underclocking your mid-high end gpu will give smooth performance on cod4, dead space and mw2 (which that game has so many freezing points).. And im thinking that shaders is a big part of overclocking which some games would get BSOD when you overclock at least 30-50 % with core clock.. Now when i played MW2 and dead space, i underclock my core clock for like 30% and ddnt experience any freezes at least 2 hours of gaming.. But with crysis, i mean downclocking it is not preferable.. shaders is a big help for this game..

Does somebody here has a couple of overclocking profiles using rivatuner?

I wouldn't use other peoples overclocking profiles. What works for others doesn't mean it will work for you. Everybodys card is different and nobody gets the same two results. On top of that each game can react differently to an overclock. If you are getting BSODs and other errors then your overclock is probably not stable.

well as what ive said, its my friend's profile not mine coz we have different gpus, i tried to underclock my gpu a little bit myself and got some good performance without BSOD for example on dead space. And for my other games, i use my overclock profile.

this mostly has to do with heat issues. the cooler you system is the better it is for overclocking. and the opposite is true as well. if you're system is hot you'll get better performance underclocking sometimes depending on how hot your card gets.

yeah i know, but i can play crysis while system will heat up like hell but i can play the game very nicely for hours, for me some games has its own optimization, thats also the reason why the driver stops responding...
