Oh and dragon age origins any good? I heard dragon age 2 was horrible.

Contrary to what the other guy said I found it to be pretty good, but pales compared to BGII, and worth a look. Good characters, good presentation, good combat, good length, terrible pacing at some points (there are mods to fix this) and questionable final boss. It is linear to a point: it is set up like KotOR. You do stuff in a bunch of linear areas but you get to choose which order you tackle them in with the party members of your choice so it is the illusion of open world.
You are best off buying the Ultimate Editon because it is ridiculous how much content is packed into the box for what you pay ($30 on Steam: also disable the feastday and blood dragon armor add-ons, they are stupid and add nothing).
The other game I would recommend getting is Neverwinter Nights 2 Platinum ($20 on Steam or Gamersgate). The vanilla campaign is a drag and the camera is terrible but it has great combat and the best customization in any D&D RPG. The real draw of the package is Mask of the Betrayer. You know the guy who wrote Planescape Torment? Well he wrote the script for Mask of the Betrayer.
