anyway it sad that you have to buy a pre-build pc. you'r father / mother is the reason of that. you ask a gaming pc and they give you student pc. why ? cause there no pre-build pc on market specially from hp that is optimized for gaming :(

it sure hard Drive don't really matter but those are fact when i look at model of those hard Drive in pre-build pc it often make me sick among other thing

such as the video card they say WOW A 9600GT ! in a 899$PC when for that ud have a 4890 1Gb = 4x more power In FPS (frame rate per second)
i know that i being to bestbuy / futureshop lot and i see lot of pre-build pc they alway make me sick

only the low Budget at 399-499$ are fine cause they match what you can do at you'r own in canada but not in usa. you can alway get better by ur self : but in canada tryed Several time it come close if you put same cpu / motherboard / os / hard drive / dvd burner / case / power supply / you get near 399-499$ so you barely beat them in any area Beside motherboard / ram / case / hard Drive quality / Cpu if in sales ;) beside that it you'r own build

unless you are not need to ship any of the part. or the shipping of each part are free :D then you win anytime against a pre-build Budget 399-499$PC in canada

anyway since it like no discussion about getting a own build : see what processor is : the processor should be okay but restricted to overclocking as most of pre-build refuse to accept overclocking as possible task in the motherboard bios it sort locked there peopel who claim you can unlock it in bios or bypass it

example if it a Q8200 you could overclock it at 3.2Ghz and get a +20% boost in game : and if the video card a 9500GT / 9600GT swap it to like a 4850/4870/4890 1GB or If you nvidia side and it support sli for upgrade Wisely maybe 260GTX / 275GTX / if more money 285GTX (Rival of 4890 1GB)

anyway i hope you don't get a too huge deception pre-build pc alway Bringed me deception until iv learned that own build is economical and huge power
but require knowledge to master the way to buy those part which i did over the Past 7 year

Ok. sorry my bad but it just i tough you where young :D it just odd to want to buy a pre-build ur 36 ? and want gaming ? why not make ur own ? you will alway get better :recent motherboard of 2008 P45 / X48 instead of 2006 that are like Intel chipset 965 /P35 Imodel : recent hard Drive : : spare money to upgrade further

i could do you a list on newegg.com just make an account after you put the piece together like you did with lego block when you was 8-10 year old ;) or you go at a shop and ask can you assemble my machine ? i don't know how. they they ask you 30$-50$ in most of the place : you come in by the next few hour.

it all build as it take them from 10-15 minute among all the other pc they must assemble in a day :my first own-build was Assemble by a Local shop then i said well it not hard to make it ur own so did it on my own : but if you look at them assemble it take no time :P they are Fast they know where cable of psu go. they know how to mount ur cpu cooler to allow overclocking in a really fast manner they do that all day so it normal they are fast lol it took me 3 hour to read the manuel and build my pc was trying to figure out how to move jumper on the motherboard + the cable where they go . if i asked the local shop would being done in 15-30 minute 100% done lol

Well It why he haven't bough a pre-build already if he can find a people who handle pc part in is country area he could just get it all on newegg.com he would get a PSU of 650-750W / hardDrive of 1 TB for 90-110$ / DVD burner of top quality /

For video card Maybe an 4890 1GB / 260GTx / 285GTX / 4850x2 (2GB)

Motherbard A P45 Gigabyte UD3P or if he think of Crossfire a X48 or if he want core i7 : X58 + Core i7 920 + Overclock Via Awesome Cpu Cooler CPU Q9550 / E8600 + Overclock within a Thermalright 120 Extreme But it Better to have the T.R.u.E Edition for the Second fan clip

Case CM 690 /CM HAF 932 (Haf 932 as Like the Best airflow of a case lot of people who perform good overclock get it as it awesome
There also CM sniper / Thermaltake Speedo

I would look into getting an HP m9500z/t with the base configuration and then buy a GTX 260 as they run about 200$ or so. Though it really depends on your budget. I just guessed that you want the best bang for buck.

hardocp are biased in most of review they ain't Trustable as bit-tech / Anandtech / Legionhardware according lot of people also another thing : did you remark the test was at 2560x1600 and not 1920x1200 ? : how many people on earth as a 999$+ TN panel 30 inch : 2560x1600 monitor As Far i know from statistic only 3-5% of The Gamer that as a pc of 1000$ posed one = not Trusty they should show 1920x1200 16:10 or 1920x1080 (HDTV) 16:9) and even Lower Because There is 1680x1050/1600x1200 and those Resolution is the most popular used by user who buy pc

not everyone as bough 1080P and WAy Even more of 1500P but I figure 1500P Could become a Common technology if they start sell it at 499$ by 2012-2015or if that HDTV Become with 1500P at 40-52inch With 1500P / 2560x1600 which could maybe occur content on BLue-ray or Holographic Disc of 500GB which is said to appear on market by 2010

Beside it know that nvidia as better Driver for 2560x1600 For a majority of game but ATI as Climbed it way but all other resolution it behind mostly
here we have farcry 2 Look how Ati Lead in majority for 1920x1200 but at 2560x1600 nvidia Driver will take up apparently

now Explain why i see 4890 With Superior Frame Rate per second then 280GTX & 275GTX ? and EVEN 285GTX if you take the low % overclock which can be perform by any video card at no extra risk unless you posed a Computer Case That as only one Single fan and set Exhaust Fan and stock intel cpu cooler perhap ;) else i don't see why ud be unable to perform the overclock

How Ever for Cryisis Warhead an NVIDIA BASED GAME AND MADE WITH NVIDIA PHYSIC X (one of the only game to be full nvidia sided)
Let See how the 4890 1GB at 1.0Ghz/1.2ghz score =) ud be suprise even at 2560x1600 : go ATI CCC 9.4
