Define "it's on maximum". Because by the looks of it, you have to actually read what those people have in their computer and at what settings and then say that they are lying.

Is that with Dx10? because in Dx9 at 12801024 withvery high without AA, I average around 45fps.

Yep on XP all on high(without the tweak) I get 45-50 frames at 1440x900. On Vista, very high same resolution I get from 26 to 28 frames, minimum 22, so it's nothing special :/ all those people that say that can't run the game, can't because they use higher resolutions than you used with AA.

:O that's not fair! my comp shouldnt be too much worse tha yours yet i run 1280X1024 on regular high without AA at around 25-35 fps :'( .

edit: well ok, not 25 but sometimes around thirty and barely passing 40 at any moment :( so i basically average low 30's.

I think when people say one can't run Crysis with Max settings they imply that you can't play it with max settings, AA enabled and in a high res. And even then I'd say with DX10 in Vista.

See how you system holds up then.

DX10 is more "pretty" but there is no game currently out that will really show the difference between DX9 and DX10 in a "day Vs night" way. It's basically minor small details. Altough I'm running Vista now with my 8800 I wouldn't reccomend people rush to the stores now and get Vista as it's, in my opinion, not as big a visual improvement as I was hoping for.

well yea thanks for the advice..

also new games like .. Far Cry 2 .. Mercenaries 2 .. Crysis Warhead .. and many other games will use the DX10 and it will give better performance and graphics on Vista

so i remcommend to buy vista ASAP and yea.. XP has served well and its time now to move on to the next OS

True, those levels take biggest hits.

Huh...? V-sync is a waste, no matter what. Anything more then AAx4 isnt noticable. 30-40fps is pretty good...

Sheesh.

this is by far the dumbest post I have ever read here...also on a side note, I am amazed at how little folks here (on GS PC Forum) know about PC's and their components.

I don't believe this level of res. is concerned when discussing whether Crysis can be maxed out or not. Try it on good old 15" LCD, I'm sure all very high with at least 8xAA is playable.

1600x1200 is the current minimum resolution for *quality-image gaming* (**=image quality not the game quality).
