1) Does it have a steep learning curve?

2) Is it P2P? (Because it's blizzard)

3) If so does it have a free trial?

4) Is it graphics intense?

5) Should I play the first one before the 2nd?

Thanks in advance. I'm pretty new to the PC gaming scene hence my username. :P

1) Easy to play, hard to master.

2) What do you mean this is Blizzard? it's not a MMO, only decent MMOs are pay to play, the rest of the games aren't.

3) I think it has a demo with a few missions.

4) Not really.

5) Only if you care about the story, otherwise h no.

Agreed with everything here but if you plan to play online prepare to get stomped in your first few matches.

Ya, it really depends on what you mean by steep learning curve. For the single player, not at all. I steam-rolled the normal campaign and I am freakin terrible at RTS games. However, for the multiplayer.....ya there is a big learning curve there unless you are playing at the lowest levels. There are some good co-op options as well if you have friends to play with.

Here is the FAQ for the demo of SC2 http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/1567813648 Also, the online is very unforgiving. However you can play against the AI by yourself or with a couple of friends (which is what i do since im just bad at the game).

Do not buy SCII unless you are willing to invest DOZENS of hours playing the game every week, because that the only way you can improve your game. I quit the game about a month ago because my GPA went down hill after I started playing SCII.

You don't have to be the best to have fun in a game, but I agree, if somebody can't handle games and end up like you did, the real life being affected, that certain person needs to find another hobby, or to avoid games with an online component or lengthy singleplayer campaigns.

the campaign is AMAZING and the multi-player is pretty much my favorite past-time...

and don't worry about intense multiplayer- its a league system so you will play 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or 4v4 with people of similar skill, and then work your way up to other leagues :)

the units are very cool and the whole game is just a blast... only gripe I have is that I preferred the atmosphere and music of StarCraft Brood War... plus I feel like they could throw in a couple new units...

i would recommend getting it now and practice up before Heart of the Swarm

1) Depends, in some senses it does but if you keep a positive attitude - you learn at a decent pace.

2) Its got Matchmaking and Custom games but I dont think anything is hosted player side...I think. I might be wrong. Everything is over BNet so...

3) As a matter of fact - they recently released something called Starcraft 2 Starter Edition. Lets you play a few missions and also lets you play some MP but only a few custom maps.

4) The graphics are great but performance is very balanced.

5) I didnt, I just got the gist and then got SC2. It goes over the story while you install.

Its a great game man. Go for it. Ive been playing for a solid year now.

I have 400 league wins and man am I having a bad time with 3v3 - 8 straight losses. BNet keeps throwing people that are favored straight up at me. I used to rock at 3v3 too...I did take a long break when I broke my thumb though...sigh. Not to discourage you of course. lol just meant to say - you're going to lose - just keep on chuggin.

1. it is quite easy to learn. If you want to take play at professional level, good luck there. It is hard to master. 2. You mean pay to play? No, you can play for free after you buy the game. 3. Yes, it has a free trial. The first three missions plus one of your choice. You can also play on Bnet on select maps in Custom Game. 4. Nah. 5. Only if you are interested in the story. Gameplay wise, the second one is better and more easy to learn than the first one but the story of the first one is way better than the second one.

It is easy to play, hard, if not impossible, to master. With the game such as SC2, it takes more than just "mastering" the game mechanics, its more about your ability to foresee and interprit what the opponent is doing and properly respond to it. It has an endless trial, which you can play for as long as you would like. It is graphics intense, but it doesn't have to. You can play on Medium but have an option to play on Extreme. You do not have to play SC1, but it is a great game, highly recommend.
