I'm looking for a processor that fits with this motherbord: (I know it's pretty crap)

http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/index.php?i=spec_cuba&ppn=PB80100201

Im almost certain a Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 will fit, but I want to get a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 if possible... can you also recommend other CPU's that my mobo can handle for around the same price...

The reason is I can save £340 if I just upgrade instead of buying a new pc which has the specs I want...

Also, do I have to install an operating system when buying a new processor? Or is that just buying a new mobo?

One more thing... will a stock cpu fan be sufficient for cooling the cpu? (I currently have a pentium 4)

there isnt much point in getting a new processor because your ram standard is only ddr2 400 so while you may see come improvement you're probably better of getting a new mobo with that package ps you only need to reinstall windows when you get a new hard drive

Packard Hell is still around? Wow, I thought they died out 10 years ago! You might want to contact them, as I don't see anything on MSI's website. Better to contact then spend $170 dollars on a processor you may not even be able to use.
