Somthing weird happened when i took out my mobo and put it back in

it installed a floppy disc drive... i dont have a floppy disc drive but under my start button and under computer it thinks i do. any solutions? its not hampering my pc by anymeans its just anoying and me being a virgo everything has to be right in my life or ill go crazy xD. any solutions? anyways thank you

i forgot to mention that i did uninstall it but when ever i reboot my pc it reinstalls. also now i have to press f1 when my pc boots up because of it. real bummer but once again ty for the help

The only thing I can think of is that maybe something got stuck in the headers for the floppy IDE channel, and it has shorted and fooled itself into thinking that you have a floppy drive. Did you add any other hardware? Perhaps Windows is just misidentifying some other piece of hardware.

No i didnt install anything new i just wanted do video card messurments with my sata ports to see if i have room for a double decker video card. that would be a tottal bummer if somthing shorted out but i really appreciate ur help:)

It's going to show up regardless. At least for me it does. I haven't had a floppy drive for a long time now, however it still shows up as a drive in My Computer. It doesn't cause any problems.

you could check bios to see if it has installed a floppy drive.. and if it has just select it off, maybe your mobo reset to default if it was without power for a while, worth a check

I'm pretty sure you should be able to disable it in BIOS (or at least the floppy seek).

Just go into the BIOS and there will be an option to tell it that there is no drive A: installed.
