It seems the gtx 1080 is an amazing card capable of handling 4K, I was thinking of getting 2 of these to play Witcher 3 at 4K 60fps. Yep I'm willing to spend all this money just to play witcher because it is such an amazing game, since I do not want to invest in a 4K monitor I have to make do with what I currently have. My question is, given that I only have 1 screen which has 4K resolution, that being the Sony 75" TV, is the 4K resolution going to be a much superior option to my monitor? I know LG's AMOLED TV's are king and if I had one it would beat my IPS monitor in terms of picture quality but is 4K resolution really that much better than 1440p to justify purchasing two graphics cards for?

1st of all a game should support 4K graphics, forcing isn't a great option that works everytime.

If you aim for better gaming I'd go with ROG, better refresh rate G-Sync / FreeSync etc, if you're into more of a casual gaming and more into movies I'd go with the 4K.

Also to be able to play games at max resolution at 60fps + you should have 2 high end GPUs (2x 290s, 2x 970s or above, single 1080 will be also good)

The difference you get with 4k is probably less significant than the difference you'd get from moving to a 1440p 144hz G-Sync monitor. I'd go with the Rog.

the Rog easily, 4K requires immense amount of gpu power and the 4K monitors aren't at the same level as 1440p ones tech wise

The Bravia will most probably destroy the ROG in terms of image quality as IPS screens have terrible contrast and screen uniformity. However the Bravia will most probably be noticeably slower than a regular computer LCD let alone a 144Hz one. And of course 4k is so much more demanding than 1440p.
