Ok so tax return season is here and I've gone too long without a computer since mine got hit by lightning many months ago. Anyways here is what my set-up is going to look like.

Intel 2.4ghz Quad Core

4GB DDR2 1066

Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS (G92)

500GB HDD

And of course the no brainer stuff like DVD-rom/burner. I will hopefully be adding an additional 8800 GTS soon. I'm hoping to be able to run crysis at around 40-50fps at a respectable resolution.

Wouldn't bother with the DDR2 1066MHz RAM - it's not as if you'll realistically get your motheboard stable with a 533MHz bus speed. DDR2 800 is more than enough, that'll take you to 400MHz without breaking a sweat, and most RAM will go even higher without too much fuss.

That being said, it's kind of hard to check your rig out with that few details. Seems nice, but without a power supply, motherboard, case, and some brand names, it's kind of hard to judge, especially since we have no idea how much that's costing you.

NZXT Zero Black/Silver Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case $149.99

ASUS P5E LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard $229.99

XFX PVT88GYDF4 GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready $299.99

KINGWIN ABT-800MA1S ATX / BTX 800W Power Supply $174.99

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor $276.99

OCZ SLI-Ready Edition 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) $105.99

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3500320AS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive 119.99

Total: $1357.93

The Motherboards standard for DDR is DDR2 1200 thats what I thought it ok to use the 1066. PLus with 1066 it matches the same speed as the processors FSB, but not sure if that makes a difference.

Again I will be adding another 2gb of ram and another 8800 over the next month or so.
