Sooo I have a gtx 660 ti

So someone give me a gpu for Christmas and i don't have a PC, so I decided to build my on PC with a budget of $250 and I need help searching for the right components. I put on my Amazon cart this PC parts...

Motherboard - $45 ASRock H61M-DGS Motherboard DDR3 1333 Intel - LGA 1155

Hard Drive - $60 WD Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, 7200 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64 MB Cache - WD10EZEX

Ram - $46 Corsair Vengeance Blue 4GB (1x4GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory

CPU - $42 Intel Celeron G1620 2.70GHz LGA-1155 Processor

Case + Power Supply - $37 Ark Technology PA-06-LF Black Steel ATX Mid Tower / Computer Case with 500W Power Supply

GPU - free GTX 660ti

I never build a Gaming PC before so i dont know if its going to work, so i want to know if i can change something for a better part

I also wanna know if the GTX 660 ti has better performance than the ps4

NOTE: I will obviously buy a better CPU and add 4 more gigs of Ram

save your money until you have about $350 then you can do a proper build.

I agree with the above post. If you want something gaming that's not going to be good.

Look into AMD FX 6 series and AM3+ mobo. Also you will want atleast 8gb of ram. Save a liitle cash by downgrading the HDD size.

Yea i think i might save more money haha, what do you recomend for building a PC with $350?

On another note your best bet would be to buy a reburbed desktop on ebay for like $70 change out the case and psu and go from there

Look in to amd fx 6300 or at least 4300 but for the price 6300 would be better.

and an am3+ motherboard, plenty around for a good price.

buy a seperate case and power supply, power supplies can actually ruin gpus if they are incredibly cheap.

Anyway that MB and CPU would just not cut it. Really, save more and wait. The 660ti will wait for you

One problem with that case will not work with that motherboard ITX is not ATX compatible

For a budget CPU anything less than an FX6300 and an AM3+ mobo not worth it ( good think you can get both for $170-180 ). An i3 is also worth considering if you want an upgrade path but is more expensive than fx6300 and offers less performance in some of the latest games that start to rely on 4 or more cores ( Crysis 3 is a prime example )

Then you need to add a good quality Power supply something 400-450W from Corsair or Antec will do and that will add about another $60. Add $35-40 for 4gb Ram ( you will need to add 4gb more later since 4gb nowdays is the bare minimum but if you dont have the money for 8gb 4gb will suffice for most cases )

Then add a semi decent case ( such as the low end elite series from coolermaster ) and a 500gb HD

All in all you need a $340-350 budget as 04dcarraher suggested and you will have a really nice gaming pc

But if you already have a pc you can reuse your hard drive and that will save you $40 and if your pc is semi-decent you can probably reuse Ram as well ( if they are DDR3 )

CPU is garbage, won't use it for gaming at all (media center max)

Never buy case+PSU or use the PSU at all.

I've noticed your "note" but it's a dumb decision to even start it running, don't waste your money, get a proper CPU with PSU - then start building it.

Case is not compatible since your MOBO is micro ATX and case is Mini ITX.

Corsair 200R or GX700 are good cases

dat mobo, dat cpu, much low end. You're gonna bottleneck the **** out of that GPU.

@acanofcoke: It happens. A friend of my wife bought me an AGP PNY GeForce FX-5200 back in 2009. To make it worse, I already have the same exact card from over a decade ago. Ha Ha!

There a reason why stores put such items on the bargain bin.

Just get one of this for a microATX case:

It's cheaper ($40). It'll also fit a full-sized video card and has easy access. Pretty good rating by buyers. I bought one after finding out my previous microATX case will only take video cards with a max length of 9 inches.
