I made the switch, it's just not worth spending thousand of dollars to play a handful of mediocre games on the pc every year. What a waste, and I even got an 8800 and all the good stuff for absolutely nothing.

they release games onto consoles first because theycan make more money and for Halo 3, sell more consoles. Also there are more of the hardcore gamers on consoles that love to buy all of the games likeGears Of War so companies release on consoles rather than PCs and make more $$$. Anything else you'd like to hear?
Sure good games come on consoles first, but there is a theorem I made up." If it's from Microsoft, it will be better on PC." Examples: Halo PC- online multiplayer support and 6 new maps. Halo 2- new maps and better graphics(personally I think halo 2 sucks. Gearbox software didn't make that game;Havok did. :x) Gears of Wars(Q4 2007)-Will include new campaign missions and other stuff. Halo 3 for PC(hopefully)- Will probably contain new maps and weapons and such.
Crysis isnt, company of heroes isnt.. supreme commander didn't.. Coh right now didn't.. stalker didn't, Our better version of bf2 didn't and they still beat the console versions.. Counter strike didn't. They sure as hell can't mod much or create maps.. the list goes on.. And someone pointed out.. we usually get better versions of the game, like gears :D, only a few like ubi may be a lil retarted

The issue isn't the timeframe in which games are released for a given platform, it's that games are now nearly identical on both console and PC. A handful of new maps and maybe a new weapon doesn't make it a better game, it just makes it a game with a marginal amount of extra content. Of course, with that new content comes a slew of bugs, CD key issues, installation problems and what-have-you, not to mention the fact that you actually had to buy the game to find out that it sucked (or sucked on your system anyway), as opposed to just being able to rent it. The "exclusives" debate is 100% nuill and void because, with the exception of strategy games and MMORPGs (which aren't actually RPGs), damn near everything that anyone actually cares to play is now being developed multi-platform. Mind you, I'm not one of these naysayers or doomsday prophets crying about the PC-pocalypse, but you have to admit, being able to get a straightforward and reliable gaming platform for a few hundred bucks can look pretty attractive compared to all the headaches we PC gamers have to deal with. Realistically, how much does the average consumer know about Windows Vista? And where do you think they're going for games, PC or console? Does that mean consoles are the better gaming platform? Of course not. Not to us, anyway. Publishers and developers have every reason in the world to love consoles, however, which is why it makes a lot of sense to own a console if you're really into gaming, It's also a hell of a lot more cost-effective than overhauling a PC that's a few years old. Hey, you know that $500 graphics card you bought last month? Yeah, you won't actually need that for another two years, especially since the rest of your system is so handily bottlenecking its performance. You could have bought a 360. Don't take that the wrong way. The PC gaming market is still doing better than ever, it's just hard to tell sometimes because it now has to share the same market space as consoles. But I personally don't believe that the growing popularity of console systems signals the demise of the PC as a gaming platform. On the contrary, I think it's forcing developers (particularly Microsoft) to rethink their approach. The last thing Microsoft wants is for PC gaming to dissipate. For that to happen would be a guillotine through the necks of every partner Microsoft has in the hardware industry. Even worse, that would leave them to compete at the same level as -- Gasp! -- Apple. Rest assured, people, the PC will survive. Well, unless Nintendo has anything to say about it. :P

Consoles are cheaper than your ultimate gaming rig, which can run youany where around$2,000 + but the games run better on the PC and the quality of the graphics is better on a PC/Laptop (gaming rig one that is)

Maybe cause consoles suck so they have to release good games on them to get anyone to buy it. Ill be happy if it comes to PC, but I really don't care when. Theres alot of PC exclusives... SupCom, CoH, BF2142, Crysis. PC still rules the RTS genre. I haven't seen a single console exclusive RTS game.
PC gets WAY WAY more games then any single console will EVER get.. Not only can we play every game ever released just about ont he PC, which isn't possible on any console.. But We have had the higehst release of both AAA and AA games out there, we dwarf all other console libraries both int he short term and long term.. This is excluding the numerous free games that are made from released pc titles from dedicated mod base communities, not to mention the superior multiplayer..

For example...HALO 2 would be great if it not came for consoles first:roll:...now we have half finish PC version "ONLY DX10"?? of that game, not very playable thou?

Demos ftw. Well, that's partially true. Demos suck nowadays. They give you a few quick glimpses of the gameplay, a brief overview of the storyline, and a list of "groundbreaking features" that aren't exactly groundbreaking (or features). They never give you enough to get you hooked, just to reassure you that the basic gameplay (which they copied from another game) is functional. "Hey, if you liked gunning down bad guys in these two levels, be sure to pick up the full game and gun down the same baddies on ten more levels!" I say it's shareware ftw, hehe. Of course, games are so short nowadays that a traditional shareware version would probably include everything but the final battle. I miss the days of getting to play the whole first episode of a game before deciding if you wanted to buy it. I also miss first-person shooters that you could play through as different characters. Honestly, demos typically disappoint me so bad that I'm more likely to buy a game if I skip the demo and just read the box. :P
