while i appreciate the effort i think it is going to be a waste of time to try to reinvent the wheel.

This idea will:

1: be compared to Wow automatically

2: be assumed to be another Wow Clone automatically

3:Will fail due to lack of end game content like Conan and SWTOR and thus will have to fall into the absurd micro purchase model to survive.

4: too much free MMO's to play.

5: Asian market saturated by its own free MMOs market.

6: Guild wars 2 will eat a big chunk of competition due to the way it's subscription model is constructed.

7: many succesfull single player game have tried to turn themselves into MMO's and have failed. Company of heroes comes to mind. Warhammers was supposed to go MMO and it was abandonned...Not enough people will join it to make it sustainable.

and i could go on and on and on....not being negative but realistic. Everyone wants to become an Ipad but there is only one ipad and so on and so forth. Instead of trying to out monkey the monkey besides you, you should evolve and become something else other than a monkey.

Skyrim was a good example of a good game and a sound strategy to make money , it was a new game that built on previous success, why not continue doing this?

i can see this online thing be good for half a year then it is gonna end up closing within the other half year...

sorry but that is the truth...

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Not impressed at all by the first released screenshot of the game, it looks like any other generic MMO. As seen below:

Made by Zenimax Online NOT Bethesda.... Aside from that these threads are saturating the forums.

who knows if the game would be good... but i'm all for more online games coming out. more games, means they have to make them better to compete with each other, we all win.

it is a very crowded market though, but its also a growing market still... and i think a lot of people that tried TES, maybe look into this one.

just judging by the graphics, they don't look too great, they look even worse then vanilla skyrims.

Oh jeez is this a real screenshot of that? Terrible. And yeah, it's probably going to be the end of real Single Player TES. Enjoy Skryim. Hopefully the modding community will keep it fresh for a veeeerrrrrry long time.

It seems like they are going kamikaze with the franchise and trying to just get the most they can while they can.

Actually, after a bit of research... my expectations lowered quite a bit. That looks really, really generic. Doesn't even look like TES. And to seal it off, Todd Howard and the rest of the Bethesda team isn't working on it.

It has potential. There's plenty of time to surprise us.

Otherwise it will be another generic MMO.

Challenge WoW... hah. I can be silly at times.

Plus I read that they're using the Hero Engine, same as Star Wars uses. Bad choice in my opinion, considering how poor some of the textures in that game are (especially low-res Gear).

Oh God that would be horrible if they used the same engine as SWTOR, that engine can barely handle anything on screen without the framerate going to ****.

Yea, clearly you can see how those people got there, why they are fighting those things, what skills they used, what they did yesterday or even an hour ago, the skillsets, the skill trees, the progression, the story, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. ......clearly it is all right here in this one screenshot. Yep.

It'll just be like every other over-hyped MMO. It'll do really well in the first month. Bethesda will tout their "record" subscription numbers, the press will lap it up, and the fanboys will say it's the best game ever. After that period, the luster will wear and subscriptions will tank.

If the game keeps to it's own style then it'll be fine, if it does go the WoW or TOR route then good luck with that!

People don't "want" a lot of things. If so, then why don't you just not include it in your life? It's not hard to simply not play ESO whenever that comes out. I know I will be ignoring ESO when it is released because whatever scarce MMO time I have will be dedicated to GW2.

I for one...i wont be playing it because it will require a great amount of time to spend...which i dont have...

P.S> Oh and about SWTOR...that game appeals only to a certain group of people...the ones who are fans of Star Wars...and from those Star Wars fans how many like MMO's?...ESO appeals to all the people that play MMO's...think about that...

This game still has a year or more to finish development, in which time the game will more than likely look and be drastically different than these few screenshots we have seen. It's sad to see so many nay-sayers when all that has been seen is a few screenshots. If you can judge a game by a screenshot displayed a year or more before the actual release you are miracle worker, and I congratulate you.

I'm a huge Star Wars fan and I played the game 2 monthes before quitting. You need 8 gb of ram just so the game will run smoothly. I got 4 gb and the minimum says its 2 gb. Neglect the fact that the game feels like it should be a single player game and lacks the most important factor....being fun.

Ok, its mot made by Bethesda. But seriously who cares?

What people dont want is a diluted version of a game they like. Also if a company decides to invest so much money on an online attempt to cash in on a franchise, the franchise itself will suffer. Zenimax should pump money into fixing and expending skyrim instead of wasting their money on an attempt at a quick cash grab. It does not make any business sense to have Zenimax spend 50-100 million dollars on making this game, not even knowing if it is going to work out. Why not take that 50 million and hire QA and staff to fix the bugs in skyrim and maybe have some other dlc's or expansion come out. If this gimmick fails Zenimax will suffer and by association bethesda will too. Its like having a parent win the lottery and see you parents buy houses, yatch,s ferraris and so many things and they are getting at the end of their money and they did not even think of paying to put you thru college, to invest in you.

Frankly this is not going to change my life one bit and seriously i do not care about how Zenimax decides to blow their money. But i dont wanna hear them cry and have it plastered all over the internet when they go under with their unsinkable idea, remember a big boat that could not fail?...

I'm actually looking forward to it. I hope it include some new things or changes certain elements of current MMOs (don't ask me what, I'm not very creative, myself). Now, I'm not saying I'll end up buying the game but if it interests me once gameplay content is showed, I might eventually get it.

I've never understood why people are always up in arms when a new MMO is announced. Everyone hated TOR, and are hating on this already. Typically make a "lol WoW clone" post without any thought, research, or experience. Every time people judge the game by a few screens/vids, but for some reason MMOs always get criticized the most.

Oh jeez is this a real screenshot of that? Terrible. And yeah, it's probably going to be the end of real Single Player TES. Enjoy Skryim. Hopefully the modding community will keep it fresh for a veeeerrrrrry long time.

They are using that engine. And it shows. I played SWTOR and it highly resembles it, from the sky, down to the grass foliage.

Not sure where people get "WoW Clone" from because no one has played it.. but screenshots at the moment look very generic and uninspiring. I'm more worried about an MMO not bringing anything new, than it trying to copy another MMO. Aside from what we've played in past single-player TES games, what will this TESMMO offer? MMO's are fully concentrated on gameplay and combat gameplay isn't Bethesda's strongsuit. Yes, I know, different developer.. but still..
