soulstorm running at 1920 x 1080 ? need help.

Ok i am running soulstorm on a quad core system with 8600gts with 2 gigs of ram on a 28" 1080p monitor and the settings in the game are set to 1920 x 1080 but the game is so big that i can't even play it will only pan out so far.

Can any one help me?

EDIT: Thats as far as you can zoom out normally.

You can hold Alt and move your mouse to tilt the camera, but you're not going to get a larger, birds-eye view of the map than that.
