So I have done all of the trouble shooting steps all over the net, but I have not been able to resolve this issue on my PC. Is anyone else having this problem?

I dont understand what could be causing this or what I can do that I have not tried already. This is a brand new PC, so I'm at a lose here.

All of my other games work just fine, just not any source games.

I've played Source games such as CS Source and Half Life 2 on Vista and they work fine - however I find that it runs slower for some reason...

As many will say, graphics card drivers?

Updated ATI drivers on an X1950Pro, no overheating issues. As well as no PSU issues, :(

A latest patch of those games should correct the problem for vista.

So I need to just wait for a patch then? I'm fine with that if that is the case I guess.

The patches are sent via Steam, so you can't go to a website, download and install the patch.

Many people have said that Steam and Source games works fine on Vista, so I don't see why your computer will have problems.

Okay, I'll try that. If not then it looks like I'll just wait for a patch.

Actually I have this same problem while playing HL2, only happened twice though. It will just crash out of the blue for no apparrent reason. But to recover all I need to do is restart the game.
