OK, so I have a huge problem with Spaceforce.

It runs like crap. Really really bad. I have to run it at 1280x800 with all the settings to low and it still performs poorly, I mean in an unplayable state.

Here are my specs:
Core 2 Duo E6400
eVGA 680i mobo
2GB DDR2 800MHz memory
Geforce 7600GT vid card

What I dont understand is how I can run games like SupCom, CoH, Oblivion, and GRAW at 1680x1050 rez with med-high detail yet this game runs like utter crap. I had the same experience with the demo, yet I hoped it was merely a glitch with the demo otherwise I would not have bought the game.

For now I just hope for a patch ASAP but has anyone else had any problems with it, and what did you do to fix it.

I can get it to run fine....

Specs:

MSI P6N SLI-FI (OEM)
INTEL C2D E6400 2.13GHz (OC'd to 2.6Ghz)
FPO/BATCH# Q704A048
COOLER MASTER RR-PCH-S9U1-GP 92mm CPU Cooler
Corsair XMS2 Dominator DDR2 1066 (1GB x 2)
Evga Nvidia 7900 GTO PCI-E
Western Digital 160GB Raptor (DELL OEM)
Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Platinum
Audio: Pioneer 7.1 Surround Sound > 1,000 watts power
Monitor: 50" Zenith (LG) Plasma
Antec Neo HE 550 PSU

My problem is that its too dang hard! I'm still trying to find the difficulty option in the game but dont know where it is. :o

I get waxed by the 2 pirates at the beginning every time. Plus the interface isn't very gamer-friendly.

Try disabling one of your CPU cores. Update graphics card drivers. If all else failsset all settingsto the lowest, INCLUDING your resolution.

Try it in this order. I'm guessing the problem is the dual core CPU, the game might not be optimized to use dual cores.

I have the exact processor he has and it runs fine on default settings, so I doubt its that.

Go to your BIOS and you should see an option in there to disable one of the cores

Umm ya, im not doing that.

BTW, fixed the problem! Just had to restart the computer, guess you tend to need to do that after running it 4 days straight lol

God, I curse the moment I made the decision of buying that game. Yes, it does run fine on a much lower system than yours, but in my completely honest and humble opinion, it sucks big time. Hell, I've had more fun with Project Freedom than with this game.

I'm all for getting the Space Sim genre back on-track, which is why I supported this game by buying it, but for pity's sake, why won't people do GOOD space sims? X3 was good, Darkstar One pretty good, verging on mediocre. Where the hell are the people doing good sci-fi storylines (at least)? They seem to have died in 2001 with Independence War 2.

I agree 100% I-War 2 had one of the best storylines, and imo was the best space sim since Tie Fighter. Havent played enough of Spaceforce yet to make a judgement of it yet so far its all right. The first 5 minutes were utter BS but after that not so bad.
