ever since i have had PES 6, it would on occaisson produce a huge spike of colour that protruded from the player itself, as if it was a massive stick attacthed to the player, the same colour as where it was attatched. however, it has now begun happening in other games, battle for middle earth 2 and world in conflict suffers terribley from it. as a result, i haven't even finished the dtutorial; i tried the main stroy and it was no better. at one point, all i could see was a mass of multi couloured strips covering my screen, all sticking out of an object.

i dont know weather its a hardware problem, or perhaps my drivers, but if anyone knows what to do any help would be much appreciated. ive got a screen shot of some examples below

A classic sign of a card that is overheating. Nothing to do with the games or drivers. These problems are pretty much always caused by abuild up of dust. Take the card out and give it a clean by blowing on it, if that doesn't work give it a blast with a can of compressed air.

I had the same problem years ago on my Geforce 2 MX400. Im pretty sure that doing a full hard reset of the cmos fixed it at the time (which i must admit was bizzare). Short of that try reseating you vid card HSF with some fresh thermal paste.

Do you have a 79xx series card? If you do, then just RMA the card. It's a known issue, and you just have to hope the replacement lasts a bit longer before it artifices again.

Contact your manufacturer and you should be entitled to a replacement. :)

Grab your mobo manual should be directions for the CMOS reset switch inside (usuall involves removing PC from power and taking out the cmos battery and moving the jumper position). I cant say if it will do much or not (the AGP and of PCI-E frequencies may be out of whack), it was just a very bizzare solution to a very bizzare problem 7 years ago.
