Hey guys, for some reason an oldish game popped into my head earlier: Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers. I loved that game but I was wondering if there are any new games that are out with similar (tactics, controlling squads). I know of Brothers in Arms but i'm looking for something that doesn't include that FPS aspect. Perhaps i'm being too vague as to what I'm looking for, but maybe you guys can give me some suggestions. Yes? =D I've been playing a lot of Total War recently so don't suggest that one xD
I would probably say the closest (out of what i have played, demo or retail) would actually be Endwar, but i would never suggest anyone to buy that game. So on a somewhat similar game to Endwar i would suggest WiC, or World in Conflict. It is more RTS then Full Spectrum Warrior, but nothing very similar to FSW has been released. That is probably because of the overwhelming failure the game delivered in sales (thats not saying it is bad just how many people do you know that bought the 1st or 2nd game?).
So i would say World in Conflict even though it isn't really the same thing, but probably one of the closest without being a complete failure to gaming like Endwar.
I'd suggest Silent Storm. It's a TBS and I'm not too sure if you're looking for that, but for it's genre it's the best in squad based tactical combat you'll find.
I'll second the poster above and give props to Silent Storm too. It's a fantastic squad-based TBS and my favorite game of all time. It came out in 2004 but has a very unique graphic engine that I think will hold up a long time. Vote "Best Game No One Played" by Gamespot that year. I recommend getting Silent Storm Gold on amazon or ebay. The expansion is actually better than the already great original game. The game will keep you up all night.

Kinda offtopic but does anyone else have a problem with Silent Storm, that when you turn the shadows (or effects, or something) on higher than low, I get like 10 fps? Otherwise I keep everything on high and I get like 250+ fps but for some reason the real time shadows seem to kill my framerate.. :?
