1: There's a very nice guide on the Corsair site. Sorry I don't have the exact link, but it shouldn't be hard to find. 2: It's always a good idea to consider your options. After reading, if you feel confident enough to build your own machine, you can save a good bit of money, and get higher quality components. 3: Your first PC will certainly be over $1000, around $1500 is a sweet spot. After that, it depends on how much you really like great graphics. If you're not horribly picky, a few hundred a year (including air dusting cannisters and things of that nature) should be more than enough to run even the most demanding games at decent settings.
Go to that site and look at the videos, it's a bit outdated and new parts will be a tiny bit different. But you will see the basics of how to put together a computer.
