The good news is the developers have gone rogue and are making a new IP on their own called Survarium.

It's definitely a bummer but I think the writing was kind of on the wall for this one. If they Kickstart their new game, I'll certainly toss some cash their way.
their mmofps is destined to be super polished, especially from a company who always releases broken games at release.
Call of Pripyat wasn't broken at release. Actually, the U.S. release was so polished they never had to release a patch for it. Stop hating.their mmofps is destined to be super polished, especially from a company who always releases broken games at release.

Stop hating. played clear sky? I did, I don't see why we would judge a developer on a past game when there is a more recent one to look at. Their engine was still fairly new for Clear Sky (SoC had quite a few bugs too). Developers get better. This isn't Bethesda where they have yet to release a polished game. I guess it also depends on the budget of the game. After SoC and CS I assume they had more money to work with.their mmofps is destined to be super polished, especially from a company who always releases broken games at release.

Yeah I'd pitch in if they Kickstart the new game. I'm willing to support any studio that makes different, unique games.
Tuh hardly good news to be honest in anyway..... Shame they didnt just use the same engine for Stalker 2 and update it / create large new areas release it sooner and make some money. Instead they fail! Try to console port take to long and it results in this tripe. Often i wonder at the decision some companies and small hopeless retailers make. Not these guys but some people dont even warrant the silly bank loans they take out. Bug Bear of mine is wasted potential and stupid business choices. The good news is the developers have gone rogue and are making a new IP on their own called Survarium.

Polished huh? I loved the game breaking bug I ran into where if you complete the mission sequences out of order the main quest line breaks and you can't proceed with the game. I never bothered to play the game through again. Haven't reinstalled it since.

hm, that's the first I've ever heard of such a bug. Care to explain where it occurs?[QUOTE="Mr_Ditters"][QUOTE="Toxic-Seahorse"] Call of Pripyat wasn't broken at release. Actually, the U.S. release was so polished they never had to release a patch for it. Stop hating. Toxic-Seahorse

Nope it was COP. Never played new vegas (from the sound of it I shouldn't). Some dude talks to another dude on the radio. Then he is supposed to say something and the mission updates. With the bug, he just stands there looking stupid.
The way it was explained to me was that I did some on a side quest while exploring that interfered with the main quest line. Thats why the guy just stands there. I might try the COP again sometime in the future, but if I run into that kind of crap again. I'll uninstall and never look at that game again.
Oh yeah and speaking of bugs with that game. I ran into a bug that had extremely long load times. It was like 15 minutes to load a mission. That might have been an issue with the Steam version because a lot of people had it. The fix had something to with going in and changing the compatibility mode of a file. It was a pain in the ass.
I had some bad experiences with Stalker:COP. The only worse experience with getting a game to work properly was GTA4.
Well that's something of a disappointment. I really like STALKER and the sequels. Best FPS RPG since Fallout3.
fenriz275
STALKER came out before Fallout 3.
It's got nothing to do with the gamers. This isn't about sales or lack of interest. I'm getting tired of saying this constantly. Look up what actually happened before you post.Modern Warfare is alive and well, and Stalker is no more.
What's wrong with gamers nowadays?

Wrong.
If the sales were stellar (and the series deserve it MUCH more that that thing called Modern Warfare), nothing of what happened would have occurred.

Please explain your reasoning. They couldn't reach a deal on the STALKER rights. I fail to see how gamers are a fault for the devs and the GSC founder not reaching a deal to use the STALKER brand. Have everything to do with it. The devs were insisting on developing Stalker 2 on their own without payment, looking for a producer.
If the series had sold well, GSC would never abandon the production like they did, rather the contrary, would have funded it with the same devs team.

GSC didn't abandon production. The owner abruptly closed GSC due to personal reasons. There wasn't a lack of funding as GSC was owned by one of the wealthiest men in Ukraine (Or so I was told). Then again, it's all just speculation as they never actually gave a reason for GSC's closure. The series also sold very well for how much it cost to develop the games. Oh ok then, I didn't know that.
But I do know that I will miss this series a whole lot... :(
the reason they are in this mess is because they made a terrible game with Stalker:COP. that game ruined them. there own damn fault. supertrooper23
what? it's the best one in the series. most stable engine version too. SOC had a bigger initial impact, being the first, but i think COP is better.
