Really? lots of people and ratings belive that clear sky was a worse game than shadow of chernobyl and dissapointing, with many things done worse instead of better, oh wait we got some graphics features for vista, but still clear sky was inferior to soc more bugs and worse gameplay, now how will the new call of pripiyat manage to improve all these and be worthy of the current demand of this era....well thats another thing but judging by the now dated clear sky and its bugs, i wouldnt put my hopes so high like HenriH.

i just hope they dont rush this and make it as close to as bug free.

Never played any of the stalker games, managed to get a go on the russian version of Pripyat. Lets hope that the english version is better, i can set all settings to high in DX10 with X4 AA however there is a re-occuring lag that is obviously to do with bugs. I really struggled to get into it and after being killed a few times by radiation i turned it off dissapointed. Like i said i havnt played any of the stalker games so there is no loyalty/bias in my opinion, personnaly this wont be a game that i will be buying even if they do fix it dramatically.

For the first time SoC was great then when I first played CS the swamp was pretty excitting but after thats its just deja vu. Though CS did some things better then Soc. Judging by the trailer I am not impresed although I am a big STALKER fan. I would like to see that scenario in the trailor during day time, I bet its not even scary SoC was scary day and night.

Looks great.

I torrented Call of Pripyat a few days ago (will be buying on release) and I have to say it is a major improvement. Quests are now actual quests andnot some errand-boy walkabouts, the optimization is extremely better than Clear Sky and I have yet to encounter a bug/crash. The weapons actually feel real since manual recoil is added, character faces look much more real and atmosphere is stillintense.

I've been listening to the feedback of people playing the Russian version, apparently it is allot less buggy and better optimized compared to the previous games.

The game also takes advantage of tessellation under DX11 GPUs, seems they beat AMD to releasing the first DX11 compatible game.

Not all developers have the privilege of a console company supporting the development of their game...

Uncharted 2 is a Sony published title, they get significant developer support and funding from Sony to keep the game a PS3 exclusive. The STALKER developers may not produce the most polished games compared to most developers, Pripyat possibly changing that, but they work with finite resources and development time like most 3rd party developers. Given the seemingly unlimited resources that 1st party supported titles get, yes STALKER could get AAA quite easily.

I really wish I had my copy of STALKER with me, that game looks so fun

the atmosphere, oh, the atmosphere of it all

i'm insanely hyped for this game, it looks like a return to the atmospheric physcological horrors of SOC. I've always thought the Stalker games looked amazingly good for the most part, and it looks like CoP has improved on the gun models from that trailer and other gameplay footage. I for one think this could be the best Stalker yet.
