How does this game compare to the first one? Is it worth a purchase, or should I just wait for Call of Pripyat?

CS is kind of a mixed bag. The game mechanics are far better, and fits better into the world. While the story is pretty bad.
I really like the game tho, if you are more interrested in the world, then rampaging through the plotline CS does have alot to offer, it is alot easier then SOC, and more action focused.
I often consider CS to be tecnically superior (by a large margin), while SOC nailed it on atmosphere, and a strange and twisted plot ^^
Whether you will like it or not, is realy a question of whether you prefer atmosphere > heavy action, or the other way round. Shadow of Chernobyl had a focus on making your skin crawl, while Clear Sky was slightly more accessible gameplay - wise, I think.
[QUOTE="SF_KiLLaMaN"][QUOTE="dakan45"] After 10 patches it still does crash randomly.... thats a pathcing fail if you ask me.rmfd341I've never had the game crash on me after the patches. Me too, didn't have any crashes. I think your PC fails.
Maybe stalker clear sky fails because everything else including Shadow of chernobyl runs extremelly well. Seriously now we pick buggy lowbudget games that are known for having tons of problems and crashing and we saying that is a user/pc fault?
Pure fanatism to the game.
