Stalker Clear Sky is simply unplayable!

i patched the game to the last patch 1.5.0.4, and i even tried to apply the unofficial patch + some fix tips and files from other people at forums.

but i came to realize this game is simply unplayable! it crashes every time with no error message, and got TONS OF BUGS the can cause the crash.

i cant believe it that they have released it with that much bugs this should be illegal to release, this game is unfinished game.

i think if i combine all the crashes i had in my whole life, it doesn't reach the sum i had with this game.

in one word this game is worst then a BETA stage a freaking pre-alpha stage if you ask me!

if your thinking of getting forget it wait for at least a 6 months till it is stable enough to play.

(side note: i have the recommended system requirements for this game)

I managed to play through it without any patches when it came out. So it is playable if you have patience.

Hasn't crashed once since the latest patch.

hmm there was a time that they start checking games for bugs but that stoped and since 2004 we getting buggy games i hate that too i want clear sky but as ussual il wait some months

ps another game series just got killed by designers, seriousyl i wouldnt mind waiting 1 more month!

Runs fine for me.

It was buggy for me aswell and I kept getting random crashes when ever I entered a new part of the map... the first patch seems like its did its job for me.

I dont know what to say though this game is way to buggy and should have never been released like this but its still a great game imo.

I agree, the game is unplayable. it's amazing to see this game getting good reviews, a 7.0 from GS is good & imo it doesn't deserve that. The game is unfinished & the bugs are just tooo many. the main problem is the game crashing which hasn't been fixed with 1.5.04 patch. Im in Red Forest in the game & I've experienced sooooooo many crashes. I had to stop playing as the game crashes & sends me to desktop every 4-5 seconds now. It's unbelievable, how could a developer be so careless. GSC is lame & so are their buggy games. I mean the game is finished for me now, i can't play any further & if i patch my game in the future... I'll have to restart the game all over again ? as you can't load savegames created with an older version. It's pathetic. :twisted:

NO developers no longer test their games they release it as fast as possible (and as short as possible) in the past there were testers but now they worry about piracy!

Thats funny, i've yet to have a single crash from it.wood_duck

i know it sounds surprising. i too didn't experience any crashes at all when i started playing. not even a single crash no matter how much stuff was going on the screen. even tho i was running few background application sometimes, game didn't crash. i was playing slow & having fun, exploring the zone.. doing side missions. but as soon as i reached red forest & army warhouses, game started crash & now it's unstoppable. i think till now i have spent almost.... 20-30 or more hours in it & it really hurts not being able to play any further.:(

This game was simply unplayable in Vistax64 for me. CTD every 5 minutes or less. XP it ran fine up until I hit a game-ending crash in Yantar that I've seen a few others experiencing. This did however occur immediately after I had to format XP for a unrelated issue from the game, so I can't entirely blame it. I never had any problems with the original Stalker unpatched either.

These guys really do need to clean up their crap, I heard maybe they were going to make a venture to the console somehwere. That just made me laugh, but it could be a good thing as there are some guidlines and proper testing before a game is allowed to be released, so even if we do get a port it would be worth it if their games were playable on release for everyone on the PC.

Yea there are plenty of people that aren't experiencing any problems, but the fact that GSC is about to release a 3rd patch for the world edition within a month of the release should tell you something. At least they're trying to fix their problems, but you have to think if they didn't they'd be facing some legal battles.

Game runs perfectly for me, I suspect the problem is that people are pushing the settings to high. You should understand that higher settings are usually put in there for future proofing. I play this game at default medium with DX10 lighting a 4x AA and the game looks terrific (better than the first) and runs very smooth.Gooeykat

You think i didn't try that ? i have tried using minimum, low & my default medium settings many. but the game crash occurs due to some other unknown reason..

i have never in all my got a patch i always thought that they are well... nothing although some games have to have patches

alot of people simply have problems with games cause of some faulty hardware or viruses or something else the only patch i ever got was for mount & blade :P

It occurred to me after reading your two post that maybe they have to release them to get enough cash flow to continue their work on patches. Maybe if they don't release them they get cancelled?

As far as I'm concerned it's f'd up they can't release a clean game that works. I for one don't want to hear the lame excuses. I've learned not to buy games just out. I didn't buy the original until it was patched. I have always detested the push out patch later mentality.
